Anyone have some crazy or interesting experiences/stories that took place in the ward?

I've been in the ward 4 times but nothing crazy really happened. Just met some chill people and ate some shitty food that was about it.

I remember sitting a psych ward with my mom waiting for an evaluation and this old fat black woman throwing an insane tantrum out of no where, she was shrieking and everything, the security had to remove her.

What's funny is that we were being cordial with each other just before and she even offered to buy me anything from the vending machines nearby.

She wasn't being angry towards us, I don't remember why she was so pissed though.

When I was being restrained as a kid they were holding me down bent over the bed waiting for the sedative shot. Finally I got the shot and during it some guy started stroking my hair it was not comforting it was so weird.

When I was there I couldn't sleep at all. My partner talked to the staff and told them we have a fan running at home for the white noise. Those dipshits put a fan in my room and I tried to electrocute myself. Too bad it didn't work.

Most do a 72 hour hold and if the people in charge see any reason for you to stay longer then they have you stay longer and if you don't show signs of improvement or the doctor says you need to stay based on your evaluation, then you could be transferred into a residential facility. If you ever get caught trying to ctb, always tell everyone you're feeling better and no longer have those thoughts. It also helps to build some sort of plan for you when you get out and tell the nurses your plan when asked in group therapy.

when i was a kid, i went to one and there was the weirest girl there. she was like 17. and she claimed she was a fish therian or something? idk she claimed she had the spirit of a fish. and she said her chosen name was nemo. me and this other guy were dying. she was 100% serious. she said nemo meant "nothing or no one" but like. you say youre a fish, and your name is nemo??? anyways she found out i was anorexic and had problems with dissociation, so she copied those! she would copy other peoples' issues as well, whatever problems you had, she had to have them too. at first everyone bought into it, but then we all realized she was full of shit. i would feel bad for her, but she was really mean, calling me fat and commented whenever i ate something. like who calls a malnourished anorexic kid fat?

theres been a lot more extreme stuff than that, but i think thats one of the funniest with the nemo thing lol
