I was so looking forward to 'The Thursday Murder Club' and, the first series of 'House of the Dragon'. Don't get me wrong. It's not like I hated either. They were both good in places- I thought. It's just maybe that the hype for the first went on for so long and, the second had 'Game of Thrones' to live up to, that they did fall flat a bit- for me.
That said, I'm reasonably good at enjoying something on its own merits. I don't have a favourite James Bond actor for example. I enjoy them all in their own way. But, I think hype can sometimes ruin things in a way..
I was kind of lucky with things like Game of Thrones and Harry Potter because, I got into both really late so, in both cases, most of the films/ books were already out and, I had less time to wait.
I'm looking forward to a couple of game releases but, I would probably need to buy a new console to actually play them so, that will maybe put me off.
What have been your most awaited media products? Did they end up worth the wait? Have you ever gone to extreme lengths to be one of the first to buy them? Camped outside shops? Waited hours in a queue? I've never been that dedicated really. Maybe once, trying to buy concert tickets.
