If you could pick one album that to you pains the perfect picture about being depressed/suicidal what would it be?

For me, it's no doubt 2pac Me against the world. I don't think there's an album that perfectly describes depression and suicidal than this. 2pac was a wordsmith and really knew how to express how not only him but everyone else was feeling

Best song on it

Not an album; but musical composer Akira Yamaoka hits the nail on the head every time he collaborates with Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn.

The artist Teen Suicide sums up pretty well. Most of the songs have strong references to suicide, or at least depression.

My fave quote is

"But I wish that I'd never met, a lot of the people that I've met, not because that I don't like them, but because I only let them down, and when you disappoint everyone all the time... It's hard not to want to die"

Hearing that the first time, it spoke to me so much

Theres plenty of songs out there but an entire album is quite hard, off the top of my head all I can think of is Trouble Will Find Me by The National .

Check out the self-titled album from Giles Corey, which was based on the lead singer's own experience with suicidal depression. It's also worth giving Radiohead a listen, particularly Amnesiac. In fact, my username is actually based on a line from their song Videotape: "Mephistopheles is just beneath, and he's reaching out to grab me"

I really love this question. I think the depends on each person for what album represents depression for them because of their music tastes, their expreiences, etc.
For me personally, I would have to say Deathconsciousness by Have A Nice Life. It's sufficatingly beautiful with its walls of sound, its simple but meaningful in its production, it has such emotionally potent lyrics and has so many moments that just bring me to tears. For me it is the album that I think incapsulates my depression perfectly and I don't know if I will ever find one better.
For some other people's opinions that aren't from this forum, I've heard many mention are: Kid A by Radiohead (highly recomend Radiohead and to listen to the Kid Amnesia album), Pink Moon by Nick Drake (super recomend), Soundtracks For The Blind by Swans (highly recomend anything by Swans), Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven by Godspeed You! Black Emperor (the same goes for GY!BE, them and Swans are incredible), August and Everything After by Counting Crows, Spiderland by Slint, Keep It Like A Secret by Built To Spill, Either/Or by Elliot Smith, and of course the Giles Corey self titled album.
