what about animals?

What if animals could read our minds?
If they could see the disgust and hatred we harbour for ourselves, and they judge us?
Sometimes after i have harmed, or cried, my bf's cat curls up next to me,
yet all she does is stare.
she stares at me with this, idek, chilling look in her eyes.
It almost feels like shes mocking me, laughing, enjoying the pain i am being caused.
And she's not the only one.
The birds outside me window.
The ants that sit still on the wall.
i feel like the very walls designed to keep my being safe are able to mock me.
They're cursing me.
Cursing me to a fate unknown.
A fate so cruel,
even death wouldn't be able to save me.

I don't think animals cry (from sadness anyway) so, I imagine your friend's cat was maybe just puzzled. Cats seem to believe we are at their service constantly though. My God parents cat would act confused and annoyed when I went to sleep as in- I'm awake now- how dare you sleep in my presence. Some animals can sense sadness though, I think.

I think it would be more upsetting if we could read their thoughts. I imagine it would create more vegetarians/ vegans.
