Just a small suggestion for the new themes (dark) mode. When you @ mention someone in chat the way the text is highlighted make it quite difficult to read. Some other users agree with me and I feel like you should either change the text colour or just make the highlighted text an outline rather than filled in completely.

Thanks for all your hard work :)

I miss the old theme that I'm used to, however, these new themes are pretty good & I'll get used to it eventually. What I like most is the quick jump. It's useful & saves a lot of time for me. Thanks for your hard work!

Omg I just can't with this layout, it looks really bad to me. Am I the only one? Struggling to find stuff and it just doesn't look or feel right.

My only issue is that the site keeps defaulting back to light view every time I come back, it's not saving my dark view preference

Great new features! While the the new theme is decent, I think I'll forever have the preference for the 2019 Light theme because it's how the site was when I first joined. Nostalgia I suppose.

This is cool. At first I missed what the themes looked like before, but now I'm getting used to them and like them!

Oh and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EXTENDING THE EMOJI SUPPORT! 😁

After about a month or so in development, we are ready to release 2 new themes along with a few nice features to go along with it. I will go into detail about the changes we have made. Please note that many of these features are untested or unavailable on other themes so they may or may not work. The new light theme will replace the current default theme that we have right now. I will showcase the new features below:
  • New Logo & Favicon
  • Quick Jump
  • Hide Suicide Discussion & Hide Recovery Forum Options
  • Hide Images
  • Light/Dark Mode Toggle
  • New Sidebar Icons and Style

New Logo & Favicon

View attachment 78179

We now have a new logo and favicon that better matches the theme of the forum. Initially, the look I was going for was more of a diary, but it ended up turning out much better than expected. I hope that everyone enjoys the new logo and favicon.

Quick Jump

View attachment 78178

Although not requested, this has been a feature that has been in other forum software. It can be used to jump to different forums in one click instead of having to go to the front page every time. It will make navigation much easier in general. This feature is available for all members and guests. If you hide forums in your preferences, they will also be hidden in this Quick Jump menu. The menu will also tell you which subforum you are in.

Hide Suicide Discussion & Hide Recovery Forum Options

View attachment 78186

A much-requested feature has just arrived! You are now able to hide either the Recovery or Suicide Discussion section of the forum. You are able to do this from the left side menu of Settings > Preferences. If you try accessing the forum or any of the threads in that forum. You will be met with a screen telling you that you're hiding the subforum and it will also tell you how to disable the hiding of the forum. This may come in handy if you're trying to recover and you don't want to see any Suicide Discussion threads or the subforum. This also may come in handy if you just want to take a break from both forums and only use the OffTopic, for example.

Light/Dark Toggle

View attachment 78187

Last, but certainly, not least is the Light/Dark toggle switch on the left sidebar. This will allow you to quickly change between the two styles quickly. The forum software will also be able to detect if you're using light or dark on your OS and it will adjust the forum theme accordingly to match.

This is all for the major changes. Let us know if you like the changes, and if you don't as well. Please report any bugs that you find with these new features. These features have not been tested with the older themes, so they may not work.

Thank you,
Marquis
One thing which would significantly improve the forum for me is a search bar - not necessarily for the entire website, it could be one separately for each subforum.

I'm not aware if there's a specific reason for this feature not to be implemented on behalf of the moderators, but for sure a ton of users could benefit from accessing old threads without needing to scroll endlessly.

The same happened here when I first switched to dark theme - I believe it's a bug only happening in the beginning

Also ,regarding the 2020 Dark Theme there is a weird white outline in the whole forum part and when you have the "hide logo" option ON it doesn't work.. just wanted also to know if thats something you are working on ? Fornow im with the new theme.. but for some reason i keep thinking i have to refresh it ever so often to get updated notifications ie chat rooms etc.. thankyou very much and have a good night ,From Simba

May I ask what happened to the 'ignore thread' option that was near the top right of a thread? I don't want to ignore the member but I don't want to see some of their threads.

Looks really nice, I'm still finding my way around it though. I was used to the little house we had before. Was cosy that little house.

Is it possible to have bold font for unread threads and regular font for read threads, as was the case in previous themes? That way it gives a quick overview of what I have and haven't read, unless I'm just dumb and missing something with the current theme. The other changes are pretty nice though.

I understand the concerns but we really need an updated Yellow Pages for methods and procurement. It's a shame that even off Reddit one has to jump through hoops.just knowing its reachable is itself calming.
