As the title states, over the years anytime I have had a dream that had me near water, it was always filled with Sharks, particularly the appearence of the Great White Shark.
Now, I do find them quite fascinating ever since I was a kid, probaly all thanks due to the JAWS series of movies. Question is, why do these dreams pop up often?
They usually depict me near water and as soon as I dive under thanks to my curious nature, there is always one near me or circling me.
There is also the occassional sudden attack while swimming but that's really rare to be honest, usually they don't attack.

Anyone else have similar dreams? Possibly of a different animal or thing?

Nope. I always have dreams about my teeth falling out. Supposedly that means something, but I forget what.

Perhaps you were a shark in a past life?.. are you afraid of them at all?
With me, I have dreams of bears - but they are always chasing me to attack.
One reoccurring dream I have is hundreds of maggots crawling out of my mouth.. I don't know what it means- but it is very disgusting and disturbing

I used to have a recurring dream in which I had to defend my parents' house from wild animals: tigers, lions, pumas. The dream was awful because nobody else wanted to help. I stopped dreaming about that two years ago. But I'd wake up all sweaty and scared.

Oh yeah. I dream about that too all the time. Or that my teeth are all rotten...

I have a recurring dream where I'm watching my loved ones die and I'm unable to help them. I'm either bound up, or stuck behind a panel of glass.

I used to have dreams about teeth falling out.

Now it's that I've stopped attending classes in the middle of a semester for no reason and I'm screwed.

I had a dream about sharks yesterday! I was in the water with them and I was trying to kill them for shark meat because I was starving...

You want to know the type of dream I hate the absolute most, dreams of when I'm in a fight and when I swing my arms to punch they move like through jelly not air, so frustrating, never have been able to fistfight in a dream due to this.

@SirChuxAlot is it only ever Great White Sharks or do other sharks feature? And other sea creatures? Do you write your dreams down when you wake up as some people find that helpful.

Much apologies on my late response, didn't get a chance to check my messages at work.

I can't say I possess a fear of them but at the same time I have never really been swimming in the ocean, so that is a bit hard to clarify. There is also no jumping in the dreams either, if there is, it is usually a small leap into the water for whatever it is I went in for.

It is generally and usually always the appearence of what you would see in the form of a Great White, very seldom is there any different breed of shark present and also no other sea life are generally around.

That's very weird, I too have had the same nightmare of having my teeth rot out, in fact, I had that very dream last night! I hate those as I do take really good care of my teeth or at least try to.

The only other weird dream I ever had outside of an animal is a time when I had some armed robbers break into my house with assault rifles and just loaded me up with bullets, not a single thing said, just opened fire.

My mind seems to jump around alot when it comes to dreams.
