• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

1. Anyone who thinks that Kamala Harris is right-leaning is part of the problem. You guys live in a far-left echo chamber that has very little to do with the real world. You're not going to win the elections by advocating for socialist and Marxist policies.
2. The US isn't an "extremely conservative country", it is socially liberal. Let's talk about truly conservative countries: at least seven UN member states have capital punishment for homosexuality.
harris did have policies that republicans would agree with and should support since they share very similar ideas. same with obama and other democrats. you will actually have a hard time finding an establishment democrat that is more progressive than the other way around. thats what i meant by that. not just because i live in an echo chamber. not sure if i do, dont care really, i just observe what both sides do.

does that mean i think someone should not care who they vote for? obviously not. we're talking about if harris was too left wing. she's not, not if you look at some of her policies. i mean, not unless the country wants to admit they want to go back 100 years in policy.

so the benchline on if a country is ultra conservative would be if there is capital punishment for homosexuality? we're not allowed to mention on going trends that are constantly supported and purposed by the republicans in the form of banning gay marriage, civil right protections, and so on? cause im going to be real with you, ill keep calling this nation very conservative if democrats seem pretty neutral to dipping toes in being progress to having people constantly trying to strip the rights of others. america first and project 2025, as well as all the republicans all over the damn country wanting to take human rights away.

call me scared, dont care. not trying to fearmonger (which is something the right does a lot themselves). im just very much aware of what we have to lose, and im not going to just assume the 'arent that crazy' when they have fucking manifests from their think tanks and many of them agree on it.

so to play devils advocate: democrats are not as extreme as republicans are, but to say they are progressive or more left than other allied nations (like canada, UK, you know, other comparable countries) seems disinengous to me.

I don't identify myself anywhere on the left-right spectrum. I thought she was an awful candidate in all sorts of ways. I would never vote for someone with a career in law enforcement (prosecutor) and i thought a lot of left-wing people would feel the same (ACAB?). She is an awful public speaker. She said cloud computers store data literally in clouds "above us" showing an absurd lack of general knowledge about the world and the most key technology. She seemed to make no effort to criticise the catastrophic economic policies of Biden and if she had an alternative direction/plan then i dont know what it was. I'm not even American and intentionally try to avoid its politics but even i somehow had all this negative information pushed into me.

I thought she spent the entire campaign chumming up to republicans and explicitly saying "i am definitely not left wing don't worry", legit do not get why shitty liberal centrism and their campaigns based entirely around being the lesser evil can't ever be held responsible for their own electoral failings without the myth that too much communism was on offer being perennially at fault.

There is a reason these opinions are breathlessly put forward in the media by shitlib talking heads and its singular purpose is to prevent any populist left insurgency from gaining legitimacy in the wake of the failings of the centrists relentless tacking right. Don't be the fucking idiot who buys it imo.
Is she centrist? I was kind of figuring her for being around the middle... if we're only looking at the right half of the spectrum, lol...

Whatever we label her position, I think it's just the nature of a "lesser evil" campaign that it comes with built-in failings. What are they doing wrong? Well, how much time do you have? Is it that big a deal to them? They might have lost the election, but they all get to go back to their cushy lives and reap the benefits of Trump's dirty work.

So, maybe this is a crazy take, but I'm not sure how much they actually failed -- at least for their own selfish purposes. The exception might be Kamala Harris, herself, as being the face of all this puts her in a relatively humiliating position, especially being stuck in the limelight as a sitting Vice President. But after all the dust settles, she too will be greatly benefiting from what lies ahead.

I will cop to being surprised at the election outcome. (I knew that Kool-Aid had something in it.) Not "surprised" to a point of complacency, but surprised nonetheless.

As I write this, it occurs to me that "lesser evil" could be a misnomer here. Maybe "not-Trump" would be the more suitable label.
