I told a friend about my intentions to CTB.
I trust them but I'm still paranoid they'll tell someone else.
But they promised they would not. I believe they would not.
I'm just anxious.

Did I make a mistake?

No, even if the person tells someone it's not ur mistake. You trust the person and they promised you. So if they missuse that trust it's their wrong behavior.
Also telling a friend can get you out of miserable situtations. I wish you the best !

Well, so far it's ok. I genuinely don't think they've told anyone (yet).
They also said they'd be happy to pretend I was lying or speaking in jest.
Also they're super busy.
They said they wouldn't help me with this, they wanted me to get better and the most they'd do is talk to a helpline but not even mention my name.
That's actually a really bloody good friend… or it's luck we have similar opinions.
They also think SN is not coming as soon as it is, I think

To me, it cannot be a good thing to tell others about wanting to ctb. We live in a world where suicide is so stigmatised and our right to die is not respected after all. I can imagine that it must be a relief for there to be not much of a consequence of doing that. I wish you the best.

Just be careful next time. I hope they honor your request and keep it to themselves. Remember that if you show this person signs of actively seeking to kill yourself, they may do something like calling an ambulance on you. I personally would be paranoid too. I recommend not saying ANYTHING about any further plans, or of you feeling depressed to this person. If you're really worried about it maybe bring it up in a conversation and say that you're feeling much better so that person doesn't feel obligated to watch you. I told someone, then regretted it - I felt like I'd shared something too private - something I liked being the last thing that's just MINE and no one else's - and they start snooping into your plans, things you're buying, places you talk about, dates you mention - it's generally not worth it.

A good friend would assist you to not CTB if that is an option. They would also not tell if they understand why you are choosing this path.
This is a lot to give to someone when you tell them. It is a test they are unlikely to enjoy but hopefully pass.

Whether they pass has not fully been determined as of now. You know, people do think about things, weigh pros and cons of doing things or not doing things. Who knows, maybe a life event in your friend's life could make them feel compelled to do something. There is only one point in time when you will know for sure if your friend passed your test.

I wouldn't tell people as I think it only take one slip up for them to tell someone else but everyone is different
I speak on hear because I know that most people on hear understand were as if friends if they hadn't been in that situation won't understand but try not to worry it done now

The problem in telling anyone is that you might compromise yourself and you're plans.
All it takes is for some well-meaning do-gooder to get you into a psych hospital.
As they said in the X-filed, "Trust no one."
