Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So I failed to complete my last suicide attempt a couple weeks back because I overestimated how far I could walk carrying gallons of water since I need to CTB in a forest. Only problem is, there is no large expansive forest within my walking distance :(. Since time is currently running out as spring is bringing warmer weather with me not really wanting to wait until next winter, I wonder, would it be a not-so-stupid idea to do it in a treeline/woodland near my home? My only concern is that my method (hypothermia with the water) will take a while to actually kill me with an unknown time frame, and if I get found early I am basically guaranteed to survive. I also will have less time with my new excuse to commit to it.

I'm really just exhausted with life. I need to get it over with soon, but if anyone has any recommended methods that might be similar I'd be open to hear some. I chose hypothermia because I'm a bit of a wuss. But hypothermia is still my most preferred method by far.

I've been homeless before - and just so you are aware, hypothermia/dying of cold/exposure to elements is NOT for wusses. It's many times worse than other methods because depending on how cold it is, it will take a long time.
You'd have to be in the Arctic basically to ensure death.
I was homeless in the Canadian winter (below zero to -50°) without a coat or any resources and I still didn't die. It was also very painful
If you sedate yourself enough, you may not feel the pain of the exposure, but I just wanted you to be aware of the challenges for your preferred method. Every method has drawbacks.

edit: to answer your question about the area, it really depends on a lot of things.
1. How dense/large is the forest? How long does it take for someone to walk the entirety of the forest. if it's shorter than the rescue time, no it's not a good idea
2. since near your house, will your parents start looking for you after you leave? would they suspect you would be in the forest?
if it's a big enough forest, and it was still during the dead of winter, you'd have a chance.
But if the forest is smaller than someone could find you in 24~ ish hours... I would* recommend taking a bus or something to a more remote location.
