I'm sorry that people on here are invalidating your suffering, I think that it's really dismissive and ignorant to say things like "help is always available". I bet people wouldn't be saying things like that and liking those comments if they ended up with an incurable injury or a debilitating health condition. Just because some people enjoy life doesn't mean that all problems can be helped and fixed. I think that some people live in this fantasy world where their privilege allows them to be in a position to deny the cruel and harsh reality of this existence and downplay the torment that others experience. I think that it's harmful and insensitive when people do it on a website where people want to be supported and have their feelings validated.

There was a comma after that sentence. They were saying that people here are here to help, and that support is here, even if it's hellish now.

i do agree that sentiments like "There's help out there, you just have to look" or "See a therapist" are generally unhelpful and dismissive of the persons pain and struggles, but this wasn't that.

We are here for you, OP. for whatever you need, even if that is just talking about how much it hurts.

For the post part help hasn't helped me either, but sometimes it has, at the least it's reassurance, kindness and company from people. It does something, even if not fix everything it helps

I think it depends on the person whether one considers "help is always available" as invalidating of suffering. @CTB Dream gave the post a "hug" this is why I assume she did not consider this comment of @jodes2 as invalidating.

I rather understood his remark in the following sense. No matter which decision you choose we will be here for you. Personally I would have liked the comment. For me it does not depict all problems as easily solvable rather that this forum is also here for you when you have noone in your life who supports you. Which is not that seldom the case.

(I don't want to provoke an argument it was just my inital reaction when I read that. That it is probably subjective to a certain extent whether a comment is invalidating. And that I had the feeling CTB dream did not perceive it as such.)

Help here *is* always available mate. It has been for me, I don't know what rock you're living under but I've *always* had helpful and caring responses on here. I wasn't invalidating anything, I explicitly appreciated the suffering. You need to stop being so damned critical of others. You're not doing any good with what you write, just offloading and venting on other people's posts.
