  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

If in the future there was a highly immersive/advanced virtual reality game (something like sword art online) that you actually enjoyed and could serve as an escape from life's sufferings, would it make you not want to ctb, or atleast delay it for a while?

I think as technology gets more advanced and full dive virtual reality becomes real in our world, gaming will serve as a means to escape reality even more, and I'm not sure how to feel about it.

How do we know this isn't the most advanced virtual reality there is?

I'm actually torn. Developing tech is a huge fascination for me, as is what will be happening in space in terms of alien life. I kinda do want to stick around for that…

Isn't the internet highly immersive too? but it only increased our suffering and loneliness.

beside, even in games, you can't escape capitalism. People who can buy magic coins with money will always be ahead even if you spend more time practicing.

No, I think it would cause an immense amount of suffering. It would be a way for the elites to distract the masses from what's happening in the real world even better than ever before. And it would most likely be highly monetized and pay to win. Amongst other problems.

We could be in something like that now - and when you CTB you'll wake up in an amusement arcade, in a different reality, with someone pulling electrode pads off your head, saying, 'Was that fun? You were under for almost an hour!'

I'd actually be so happy if that was the case.

In my case, I only want non existence. I prefer the sound of that to any kind of life. Nothing could ever make me want to live.

For full-dive VR to be possible, we need to completely understand the brain and how to force our neurons to fire in specific ways. That means that the technology needed to change a brain, to completely change us as people, would be available. What does that entail? Just look at modern psychiatry with its overuse of improper medication. We suicidal people would have our brains forcefully changed to enjoy our lives, all to cater to the masses' sense of morality.

No… The real world is wonderful enough and I don't want to interact with it… Why would I want to interact with a fake world?
