I dont have anyone to talk to lately and Ive been looking for some new, less rage inducing, games to play. Theres a lot of incredible games out there that i refuse to play because I know they'll remind me of my lack of friends and chronic loneliness, persona comes to mind as ive heard great things but the idea of having a friend group to talk to and all these emotional scenes just makes me feel depressed. I'm just looking for something to play that has a good story and fun gameplay with puzzles or choices that matter.

The game "Stray" is great. You play a cat in a chaotic world with only robots.

I have no IRL friends and I also find myself playing games that are "safe" for me, as in, games that are far less likely to trigger me and remind me that I'm a friendless loser lol. So I usually try to avoid big multiplayer/team games if I can (Fall Guys seems to a rare exception though).

But anyways,

Not sure if you're into platformers but those are usually my go-to's. Games like Ori and the Blind Forest, Kaze and the Wild Masks, Freedom Planet, Grapple Force Rena, Celeste, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, Mirror's Edge, and Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls, just to name a few. All of these are available on Steam.

No idea if you have the means to play it but I loved the Professor Layton games when I was growing up and I think those puzzle games can be really fun; you can really get lost in them.

Not a puzzle game and yes, it is a multiplayer (not a PvP) but i can confirm that it has absolutely lovely supportive community with very low precent of potentially toxic element - Deep Rock Galactic. Might be worth trying for friends finding purposes.
