If you've watched him over a long period of time, you'll know that pretty much his entire life he has been gripped by an obsession with evil (hence his fixation on Stalin, Hitler, Dostoevsky, etc.). He has this deep-seated fear that the most horrific events in human history could happen again, that there's something about human nature itself that allows these atrocities to happen, so if we don't play our cards right, there's nothing stopping the triumph of evil.

Once you know this about him, his positions suddenly start to make sense. For example, he rails against "cultural Marxism" and postmodernism because he sees these bogeymen as harbingers of a society disintegrating headfirst into atrocity and evil. And if you truly believe such an extreme thing, then why wouldn't you show yourself in fierce opposition? Wouldn't you even have a moral obligation to do so?

Of course, I think he's somewhat hallucinating these concepts (it's pretty clear he hasn't dedicated a lot of time to actually reading Marx), but I see no indication that it's a grift.

That's the rational explanation, at least, but the simpler explanation is that I can see it in his eyes, to the point where even just watching him speak is sometimes hard for me because of the depth of pain in his eyes. This is a man who has known suffering.

I used to think that...but what does it say about him that he joined the Daily Wire...a group that openly hates LGBTQ+ people. Not in the super Left sense that if you aren't pro-LGBTQ+ that means you hate them...they literally do.

Yeah, admittedly him joining The Daily Wire made me uncomfortable, I'm not going to try to justify it.

Well, a bit mid century-ish but it certainly would do a better job in fighting off the issue than the suggested....
It wouldn't because, as I've stated before, half of those who commit CSA are not even pedophiles. The disorder is generally seen as something separate from actually committing CSA for a reason (at least by professionals). Suffering from it isn't in of itself a good indicator as to whether or not somebody is going to harm children.

Honestly, another unpopular opinion that I have is that we shouldn't go around talking about murdering pedophiles or cutting off their genitals. It's not productive at all and I don't think that conflating pedophilia, a mental illness, with the act of committing SA against children is productive when discussing stuff like this. A lot of people who suffer from that disorder go their entire lives without ever offending because they know that it's wrong and can't stand the idea of harming a child. Meanwhile, there are a lot of cases of people who do not suffer from that disorder but who still go on to commit sex crimes against children. This is a complex issue that cannot be pinned on one group alone. We should be judging people on what they can control, not on what they cannot control. Why people commit sex crimes, especially against children, is a complex issue that requires thorough research into why people commit these sorts of heinous crimes and what can be done to prevent this and protect children. Cutting off people's genitals won't do shit. It doesn't address the issue. It's just pointless vigilante bullshit that people advocate for in order to feel a sense of satisfaction or whatever.

Neither Trump, Harris or any other politician on a national level ANYWHERE cares about the people. No "good" person will ever be interested in putting themselves into the spotlight like this and leading the fate of millions of people. It takes IMMENSE narcissism and hunger for power to even run for such a position, to think that you deserve to decide so many other peoples lives and can do it accordingly to their desires.

I mean I don't know about the very last part because somebody has to do it...but it takes a lot of corruption for anyone to get into a position to get the kind of donor backing from elites to become President.

Video games are a hobby of the rich, PC gaming especially so.
With modern titles having increasingly hard to chase minimum specifications to run at even a playable pace with visual settings at the lowest, I am effectively priced out of a hobby that I once enjoyed and have been sitting on the sidelines for the past 12 years. The rest of my peers do not seem to agree with this sentiment and are happy to continue shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars for components to chase the latest release just so they can mingle with the gaming zeitgeist of the month. Not only that, but the games by themselves have seen a ridiculous spike in pricing.

Enter the Void is an overrated movie. I just watched it not that long ago, after hearing people sing its praises, and I came out of it very disappointed. The acting sucks, the dialogue sounds off (which makes sense since supposedly a lot of it was improvised), the characters are bland and unlikeable, there are way too many unnecessary sex scenes to the point at which it felt like I was watching softcore porn at times, and the movie goes on for way too long. Why is it even 2 and a half hours long? It's not like I mind long movies or anything. There are plenty of long movies that I enjoy. It's just that this one felt like it kept on dragging on and on. Once you get past its trippy style it's honestly a very boring story. All style, no substance. That's not even getting into the fact that having so many Japanese characters speaking near fluent English kind of took me out of it. Japan is a country that ranks low in English proficiency, so it's weird how most of the Japanese people in this film have a good grasp of the English language, so much so that they speak English to others instead of their actual native tongue. Like, why is the Japanese husband guy (Linda's husband) speaking to the Japanese stripper in English? Wouldn't they just talk to each other in Japanese?

I think that if were not for its looks nobody would be praising it so much. Hell, most of the people who praise it either talk about watching it while high or are mostly ranting about how great it is on a technical level. Otherwise, you don't see people talking as much about other aspects of it, such as the acting, storyline, pacing, or characters. You can probably find a lot of films out there that do a much better job of exploring the themes that this movie tries to tackle.

I don't think that the rich and the elites are "corrupt" as being corrupt implies that the converse of "a non corrupt version" exists when my opinion is that the rich is what humanity really is like. I don't think that humans are kind or compassionate but I think that humans are all egotistical and self serving. Most humans would act and behave in the same way the rich are if they themselves were to be rich. People say that those in power have lost their humanity but my personal belief is that they are actually expressing the most humanity as, once again, this is what humans is like. It truly baffles me as to how people think this species is compassionate
