How can an establishment called Ocean Mental Health, contribute to suicidal thoughts with such unethical practices. This place has called my mother twice and she was never listed as an emergency contact. It causes incredible fights between my mother and I. They are violating HIPA laws calling anyone not listed as an emergency contact. And they are discussing ME with whoever they feel like calling! I want to CTB right now cause they did it AGAIN today. I don't know what lies they're telling her, but I don't even live with my mother and haven't talked to her since January. But I'm getting threatening messages from her because Ocean Mental Health of Bayville NJ called her and told her to contact me. Rather than return my messages where I left my phone number as a call back!
I only called their billing department because they sent bills to Medicaid for 3 days when I was not attending their program. I wanted to correct the mistake. Instead of calling me back, they call my mother.

I'm so sorry. That's completely fucked up and very unethical. It's sad that these places can get away with murder, literally.

Did you give them her number? You're over 18? WTF? You should contact their business manager and you should make a complaint with the medical board. I am so angry and sorry to hear this. Review them on Google if you feel like it.

It's infuriating. I wish something could be done to fuck with them and make them lose their shit.

Report them is all I guess I can suggest. You could write mean letters to the people who did the calling...either sign it or be anyonmous. FUCK THEM.

Try and find somewhere else to go if you need support.

Maybe the facility is trying to take a more proactive approach about your case by contacting a known family member. Not that that justifies anything. I'm sorry for your frustration and the further discord that it's created in your life. Unfortunately a lot of people and places do this. It's very invasive and very disappointing.

I'm sorry you have had to experience this, it certainly is very unethical and it must be so frustrating.

The facility should find a LEGAL way to be proactive. Calling them wouldn't be necessary if they hadn't billed Medicaid for a Dr I never met (on a Sunday while the facility is closed), an entire month prior to me starting treatment there. Also, they should submit ONLY the days I was in attendance for billing. I obviously did not attend the program BEFORE I had an intake assessment. However, they won't correct this, or the multiple other days of mistaken billing.
