Discussion Unemployment and feelings of worthlessness

I feel like such a fucking loser for being unemployed. Being a NEET was honestly my worst nightmare and I'm desperate to make it not happen. I fucking hate being socially anxious in work situations because I feel like I'm fucking myself over. I just can't handle the shame and sickening feeling of being, effectively, a parasite. I feel like I'm failing everyone around me. I want a job to free me from this feeling so badly but I also get anxious in regards to work, it's a nightmarish feeling to deal with. I can't win no matter what I do.

It's not your fault, it's the way society is structured. You basically have to be very social and someone people just like, come from a well-connected family, be absolutely brilliant, or serve in the military to get a decent job. Plus our economic system would break down if everyone who wanted a job could get one (look up NAIRU)
