unable to pass out

I've been trying to pass out by pressing on my cartoid artery for a few days and i haven't been able to, i dont know if im not pressing hard enough or if i just didn't actually find my cartoid. im gonna CTB by ligature strangulation, do i have to try and pass out first or can i just attempt without?

I attempted without and managed to pass out just fine but regained consciousness afterwards
