Here I'll post the article here for you. That site is terrible and just a shit ton full of ads. Garbage.

"
Two Arizona sisters who were reported missing by their family in Switzerlanddied by assisted suicide, authorities say.

Lila Ammouri, a doctor, and registered nurse Susan Frazier flew to Basel, Switzerland on 3 February, and had been due to return to the United States on 13 February.
When they failed to show up for work at Aetna Health Insurance in Phoenix, friends and family appealed for help to find them.
Their deaths were confirmed by the State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs on 19 February, but no cause of death was given.

A spokesman for the Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed to The Independent that the sisters had died by suicide "within the legal framework"

"The public prosecutor's office of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft confirms that the two US women died during their stay in Switzerland. They both committed suicide – with the help of an assisted suicide organisation," Michael Lutz told The Independent.

Mr Lutz said assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland "under certain conditions".

"In the specific case, the on-site checks by the authorities revealed that the assisted suicide took place within the legal framework, so that the Basel-Landschaft public prosecutor's office did not open a criminal investigation."

Brother Cal Ammouri told The Independent he had last spoken to his sisters a few weeks before they travelled to Switzerland, and they had appeared health and happy.

He had not been told an official cause of death by the US Consular services, he said.

"Nobody else really knows the specifics," he told The Independent.

Mr Ammouri, who lives in New York City, said he was still coming to terms with the loss of his two sisters, who were his only living family.

Both sisters were adored by everyone who met them, he said.

"They were really special. They never hurt anybody. They were always helping everybody. They would go out of their way to help people, which is rare.

According to an online profile, Dr Ammouri, 54, was a hospice and palliative care specialist in Flagstaff, Arizona.

She practised at Flagstaff Medical Center where she was "board certified in Hospice Care and Palliative Medicine".

Ms Frazier, 49, was remembered as a "smart, fast" operator at work who had recently been promoted to the nurse leadership team at Aetna Health Insurance. One friend said Ms Frazier was always smiling, and "could laugh the stress away".

The two sisters were described as "best friends" who did everything together.

After they were reported missing, it was initially suspected they might have been the victims of foul play.

Longtime friend David Biglari said the last text he received from Ms Ammouri had spelling mistakes that were completely out of character.

He told KPHO that friends had "reason to believe" someone else was texting them from the sisters' devices.

In a separate interview, Dr Biglari said red flags had been raised when the sisters didn't turn up for work.

"Are they being held somewhere, hostage? Held for ransom?"

According to Swissinfo.ch, around 1,300 people died by assisted suicide in Switzerland in 2020. Most are carried out with the assistance of the two largest assisted suicide organisations, Dignitas and Exit.

In the United States, physician-assisted dying is legal in Washington, DC and nine states: California, Oregon, Colorado, Vermont, New Mexico, Maine, New Jersey, Hawaii and Washington.

Legislation has also passed to allow assisted dying in Montana, but its status is disputed after a 2009 court ruling.

Euthanasia, which involves another person administering a lethal dose, is banned under federal law.

The article doesn't say why. I wonder that. Did they both have some terminal illness? How odd, sisters, I know those end-of-life-care organizations don't just take anyone.

Euthanasia should be legal everywhere, people should not have to travel. At least they got to exit peacefully, it is horrifying to me when people have to resort to violent methods to end their pain. Rest in peace. Thank you for sharing the article.

Of course the more widespread euthanasia is the more it would be used for murder, people abuse everything, so it would not be easy and sadly not really practical to implement this, even though I do agree with the idea. As a practical matter most of us here are on our own if we want relief from the pain sometime soon, which most of us do.
Seemingly is the key- it is likely that there was a deep unhappiness that no one saw, but this is not always the case. Sometimes even though people have happy lives here they become convinced that they would be happier if they moved on to the next life, where it will be better- there have been group suicides like this. such as Heaven's Gate in 1997 in which 39 people committed suicide together.

Good for them but I really want to know what their reasons were and how exactly they were approved. I fear that this may lead to it becoming far more difficult for other people to do the same method should they need to.

That could be. Or maybe she saw people seeming to become peaceful as they passed away and thought- you know, maybe I should try that.

We do not know but that may be part of it. I think most Medical professionals have issues with this if they work in hospital setting

Is just me or are happy people and normies that always had things their way more self centered people, that don't go out of their way to help others, believing that people should just help themselves and simply fix their problems?

It's just you. This place is bursting at the seams with self-centered comments, many hinting at a sense of superiority to anyone who doesn't see existence as entirely bleak or pointless.

Good point, I think there is a very good chance this was at least part of it. It makes me furious how some anti-choice people use palliative care as their argument AGAINST suicide claiming it's the better choice. When actually, many would prefer to just be dead than try to hang desperately to a crumbling, bedbound existence requiring nonstop sedation that takes larger and larger doses to remain effective.

Switzerland sounds amazing. I wish I could afford to move there. And if you can trust the article's wording, there's more than the two big right to die orgs there. Orgs that might not be so sanctimonious about who has the right.

Is nobody going to address their poor brothers name? ..... Cal Amouri!? Their parents were either totally oblivious of calamari or had a bit of an evil streak. Bet he got some shit at school over that name.

I expect working in palliative care benefited them in navigating the system.

Yeah, this article says nothing of value. We don't know why they chose assisted suicide and it's none of our business anyways. Of course their brother says they were happy and loved, what else should he say? This is just a tabloid newspaper trying to generate an emotional reaction in the reader.

There's a point to be made about whether or not people who don't have any physical health issues should have access to assisted suicide, but this article doesn't make it.
