Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Quick summary: I've just ordered SN, but wanted to have a backup strat. I picked out a gun, it's already paid for. However, the background check came up with my institutionalization after my previous attempt. If I can get a medical professional to write a letter saying that I'm mentally well, I can still have the gun. My doctor works for the same company as my former therapist, who knows I'm actively trying to CTB. So I can't go to either of them.

Options I'm considering:
1. Get my friend who works in a hospital to sign off on me. I don't know if this would work, if the police would inspect her background too thoroughly. And I don't want her to lose her license or anything, if there's an investigation into how I got my gun.
2. Get evaluated by a random therapist in my area. I'd rather avoid extra paperwork (getting insurance to pay for the session, etc) if possible. And while I am pretty good at masking when I need too, I'm not sure I'd be able to hide my tells from an expert, which could result in getting institutionalized again.
3. Roll the dice and hope my doctor doesn't message my therapist, and that neither of them call someone on me.

Which option seems the most likely to work? Is there anything I'm overlooking or overthinking? Or should I just avoid the whole mess and stick to SN only? Apologies if I'm making the situation more complex than it needs to be.

It sounds like you don't have much of a chance. And if it doesn't work you could be setting yourself up for criminal liability. I wouldn't risk it.

This sounds like your safest option, although it sounds like a lot of hassle and extra expenses if you already intend to use SN.

its good to have a backup in most cases but i dont think its worth all the extra work. i do think you should stick with SN as it is pretty reliable. but then again, its up to you.

You'd have a better chance of buying a used gun from someone. That's where I'd start.

Probably not gonna be able to get one used either. I live in a pretty restrictive state and I don't have a car to drive to a less restrictive one. Ah well. Thanks yall.
