There have been a few threads on this method lately- I would review these before deciding on this method- just type "train" in the search box to find them. The most helpful posts I think were from someone who was a former train driver- all train drivers hit one or two people a year on average, it's part of the job, there is no way to avoid this. This train driver hit 14 people over his time, and 10 of them died, though some of them didn't died instantly- one of them spent four days in a hospital before dying, and others also did not die instantly. Of the ones who survived some had missing limbs or other lasting injuries. One common myth about this method is that you can put your neck across the rail and get decapitated and then be sure of an instant death. Trains generally have something in front of the wheels to push away debris so this prevents this and so the person who tries this just goes flying or gets pulled under the train- those who are pulled under sometimes survive and the long ordeal is terrifying. The downside risk of this method is too much for me. For every method you need to ask yourself- what happens if it doesn't work, and what are the odds of it not working? Also, how long does it take for the method to work? Some people who try this method get pulled under the train and end up having to get both legs amputated but they survive. The downside risk for this method seems too high to me. Charcoal is also an option that can work.
