I'm here the same reason anyone else is here. I'm not here regarding my career choice, but I will chime in for things I'm knowledgable on. You'd be surprised at how many professionals are for dying with dignity and choice. They can't voice it openly all the time, but a majority of my partners, higher ups, and connections through conferences for mandated continued education are for choice. It honestly depends on the person. But it might have something to do with also being around death all the time. Even my nursing coworkers are mostly for choice. :)

But I agree, it's awful that it's not available to everyone and is only allowed in certain circumstances. It's heartbreaking.

Have you seen the nasty things that member wrote to me basically saying i was liar.

I'm not sure why you would have thought this would be fatal. This is a general topic here repeatedly, and any informed feedback would be that this would almost certainly not be fatal. This isn't even mentioning the feedback regarding why taking whole pills is a losing proposition.

i just joined 2 days ago. I've read on other forums and googled it and read a lot of articles so that's why I thought that.

Trust me it did to me, I remember everything, I took it on an empty stomach in 3 gos with water. Fell asleep shortly after. No puking, nothing. And then the following morning I woke up. Nothing happened besides that, not even an headache.

That's understandable. It scares me too. I orginally thought I wanted that as my method, but I've since been looking at alternatives. I wouldn't personally recommend a pill overdose, strictly due to uncertainly of the outcome... but I know wanting to find a peaceful way out that is fairly easy to access. Benadryl is more commonly higher success rates, that I've seen... mostly due to the anticholinergic effect it has... but it's not kind to the body. You won't be aware once you basically lapse into a coma or brain death, and eventually actual death if not found for awhile. But I still wouldn't suggest it. A lot of the pill overdose cases I get called to are from benadryl, benzos, and opiates.

I would encourage you not to view much of the information posted as reliable. Attempting to OD on Benadryl is not a good idea. While it is possible to drink enough water to cause death, that doesn't make it a reliable or peaceful method to go.

Who suggested benadryl as a method? I think I was one of the only to mention it, and I stated it's one of my common calls regarding overdose death. However, I warned its awful and not at all a way to go. Xx

I also reread the post again very carefully to make sure I didn't misread or skip over anything. Where did water come into it? Do you mean when I mentioned anticholinergic effects? That was regarding benadryl and its action/effects as anticholinergic drugs affect the physiological action of acetylcholine-- i.e. they dry you up to put it simply. The opposite of excess water. That's how it works as an antihistamine. It dries the mucous secreting effects of allergies and allows you to breathe. :) unless you were just mentioning water intoxication in general without replying or referring to a member, but rather just stating it.

I don't feel any anger, nor I have time for it, it's your opinion. I have mine, I'm the one who did it not you. Don't nee anyone to believe it or not, but you assuming i was in ER and just don't remember it due to being psycotic. That made me laugh! thanks for that! I haven't laughed in a while.

700 mg will overdose you but likely not kill you
Lethal is estimated at 2000 mg but as exemplified by OP even that doesn't work 100% of the time

Airboy, you shouldn't take it personally. He doesn't know you at all nor do I. He was just being coldly analytical about words he saw on the screen and i think he was right to do so because it seems so strange and there are sometimes deceitful people posting on here.

Same here. My first attempt at 14 I took the entire bottle of ny iron supplement because I'm anemic... plus some random pills my mom had. It was scary and painful but tbh the doctors said if I didn't come to the hospital I would have died. I got my stomach pumped and I was literally shitting iron and water, nothing else. Little iron shavings! And then I got locked up in the psych ward and I met others who also OD ob pills like Tylenol and also had their stomachs pumped.

Funny thing is after that my mom was so terrified of iron supplements she forbade me from having it. But unfortunately I actually really needed them because I have been anemic my entire life and it basically destroyed my life I was a major weakling lazy butt.

Yeah they tend to make all pills used to treat depression/sleeping disorders impossible to kill yourself with. I have access to as many 45mg Mirtazipine tablets as i like, but i know enough to not even bother trying... they'd just put me in a deep sleep then i'd wake up.

You Are Right Mirtazipine 45mg just makes you very dizzy and then you get knocked out for a couple of hours
I took mine by mistake in the morning just 1 pill and it sent me to sleep for 6 hours But I can't sleep at night

but there is another tablet I take in an overdose nearly ctb if the police had not crashed my door in
However saying that second attempt I just vomited it didn't work
So yeah prescribed medication is a weird puzzle to crack

I've had 20+ overdoses and now my stomach has severe inflammation due to them

Definitely choosing a different method now

vomiting has ruined my chances all the time despite taking AE
