every decade, I waited for change. nothing. 20s, 30s, 40s. with my poor family. never had much. when i was a kid, the most fun I had was asking my mom to buy mad magazine. we rarely went to the movies. In my 50s, I have a job and can buy all basics I need for myself and can eat at a swanky place or taco bell. that's about the most I can do. no friends to speak of. no one to share with. I hope to have a cat someday before I die.

As long as I live, time will always pass slowly for me. Time usually passes fast when people are distracted by life but when you live in misery each day feels like an eternity. I still am quite young, but for me 21 years of this life is more than enough. I never should have existed for so long. The thought of suffering for many more decades is horrifying to me.

I'm pretty young but I understand the feeling of time going too fast. Recently, my brother was talking about a teacher we both had and I suddenly realized it's been six years since I've been in that teacher's class. It literally felt like two years had passed since then, maybe less. Sometimes I think about memories that happened ten years ago and I can't believe time went by so fast and it's been ten years since then. Then I realize that the next ten years will pass by quickly, just as fast as the past ten.

When I realize that, I want to enjoy my youth, because I realize that soon I'll be too old and bogged down with responsibilities to be like that. I already missed out on my childhood and now I can't go back, and the way time passes so fast makes me feel like before I know it, I'll have missed out on another stage of my life as well. I wish I could just slow down time so I could live each part of life as much as I wanted to and then move on to the next when I was ready.

That's what happened to me... lived as in a coma and did nothing. Now I can't stand to never be able to be a young person. I can't.

The whole body machine becomes slower when one gets older. The senses are slower, so everything feels faster even though they are actually the same speed.

Ten years feels short at 50 because it's only 1/5 of what has been experienced. The same ten year is a big deal for a 10 year old because it feels like doubling everything.

I think age should be reported on a log scale.

I'm 62, and time most very definitely seems to flow faster the older I get. I remember when I was in school, when I started back on Monday it seemed to take forever just to get past Wednesday. A year seemed like a small lifetime. Last Christmas, I remember thinking it seemed like summer was just a few months ago. Now another summer is rapidly ebbing away.

I look relatively young for my age, but I can still remember when I imagined people my age as wrinkled grandparents. So many possibilities are now forever closed to me.
