Putting religion and that stuff behind, what are all your opinions on reincarnation? If you were to die, would you want to be reincarnated?

I wouldn't want to be. I don't personally believe it's possible. A psychiatrist told me if I kill myself before I'm supposed to actually die, I would come back. I don't know how she says this is true. She just said she knows it for sure.

Sometimes I wonder though, what does it really even mean to be reincarnated? If you keep your conscience what's the point, you'd basically just be repeating the same regretful life just in another body. And if you lose your conscience, is it really "your" life anymore? I honestly hope I'm never reincarnated. I don't want to have to put another living being through this shit again.

Consciousness hasn't been proven as a real thing and very much may just be an illusion similar to the idea of people having free will. Everything is cause & effect so I think consciousness is just an illusion like free will.

Reincarnation can be real if the universe repeats what's necessary for all life to repeat exactly as it did again. Would that person living exactly as you lived before be you? I assume yes because nothing makes me think the current iteration of yourself is anymore you than another.

I feel that as long as there exists energy/matter, over time consciousness will inevitably arise. We all came into being by chance, and even when we 'die', chance will continue create infinite lives over an infinite period of time. In a sense we are not even actually alive, because we lack free-will and everything is predetermined.

So I would say that yes, reincarnation exists, but only because matter/energy can be recycled indefinitely. After all, we are the universe experiencing itself.

Logically, it doesn't seem possible to me. At least, not the kind of reincarnation people speak of. However, that doesn't mean it's not. So who knows? I do know that I don't want to be reincarnated. If my next existence was better and I was genuinely happy, it would be nice though. That's really all I want, to be happy.

i don't think necessarily the same life, and not necessarily predestined...just that i would ruin the harmony of everything...

I don't believe in reincarnation in the literal sense, but I'm more interested in the question of what makes my perception/consciousness distinct from yours? I think it's possible to "experience" the universe in a new different life, since our consciousness is just the result of cells and neurons coming together.

Knowing everything I do about my body failing on me, I'd be happy to receive a second chance at life through reincarnation. I don't know if it's real or not. The scientific part of my mind says it's not possible, but the intuitive part of me thinks it can happen in some instances. This world is really a toxic and difficult place, though and it's harder to survive more than ever. I think it will only get worse, so I guess if it means coming back to a world like this one, I'd opt out.

I do believe in reincarnation and that's actually something that stopped a few of my attempts. I thought why fuckin bother if I'm just gonna come back with an even shittier life. But sadly even that stopped to matter. I find suicide to be a mercy killing.

If reincarnation somehow exists but my "next life" doesn't keep my memories, then they're not me. At least not by any definition that I care about. They can have fun dealing with their existence, maybe it'll go better than mine - but it doesn't really concern me.

If it exists but my next life DOES somehow keep my memories, then existence and life are very, very different than everything I've ever imagined. Where are my memories of MY past lives? Am I the first somehow? Unlikely. You'd have to make so many assumptions and theories for it to make sense that it feels pointless to talk about - if things went that way, then what lies after death has already far surpassed my human comprehension.

I think it'd be nice to get another shot, though. Only if it goes much better than this one, of course.

Nope. Once is enough. I don't want another life. Enough of this. Don't want to repeat. For me life is suffering. If there is not life after death then there is no suffering and that is good.
