What do u consider " encouraging suicide" and what wouldn't be?
(I'm asking this question cause this site gets accused of it)
Although I'd never encourage suicide for anyone. I can only determine that for myself.

Any statement that does not unconditionally condemn it will be taken as encouraging it by the detractors of the site. Their world is very simple, just black and white, no grey.

The people who accuse this site of "encouraging suicide" are either very shallow and ignorant, or motivated by other reasons. They see something which doesn't conform to their world view as a threat and so seek to destroy it. They have absolutely no interest in protecting the so-called victims, and most who speak against the site are looking for fame or money anyway. Encouraging suicide is when you tell someone to kill themselves, it is as simple as that. Giving someone method information, or telling them of the reality of this world, is not encouraging suicide, and suggesting that it is is an extremely authoritarian view. There is no reason why giving someone information on murder weapons is any different to giving information on suicide methods, yet they are treated differently. That is because murder is not a sensitive topic and it is much easier to fit murder into a pro-life world view than suicide. I have never encouraged anyone to kill themselves, and am only looking to ctb myself.

If people label this site as "encouraging" suicide they are insane pro lifers that want to force other people to suffer endlessly with no way to be free from this hellish world. This site doesn't tell people to ctb but only respects their decision if that is what they choose for themselves.

You gotta find the balance between it. There is only a recovery and a suicide section. No in between. But many people are inbetween and others need to make sure that OP is 100% sure themselves to ctb. Some people here claim to be pro choice when they are actually pro death. They project their own feelings of the world on others and try to convince them how terrible life is, even if the person asking still has hope to recover. Some people just extinguish the little flame of hope with that.

There is a clear difference between encouraging someone and supporting them.

Providing factual information is not encouraging suicide. Accepting that a person has made a decision to ctb, and doing what you can to support that person in the meantime, is not encouraging suicide. Suggesting that a potentially suicidal person slow down a bit and consider other options, when you consider that they may be prone to acting a bit rashly, is not encouraging suicide. Making a post on some subject other than suicide itself (e.g. about depression, or site administration, or introducing yourself, or philosophical musings about the pointlessness of life, etc.) is not encouraging suicide. I think all the posts I have seen on this site fall into one of those four categories.

I think the pro-lifers or at least some of them, confuse an acceptance of suicide by people here to be "encouraging suicide". That is just silly. (I accept that it snows in winter, but I certanly don't encourage it to do so.)

I agree with your message. I wouldn't say I'm on either side but I definitely stand with pro death more, only for my sake. No one really would give out murder weapons if someone asked let's say a bomb, they'd get in serious shit. Because why else would u have a bomb? Talking about hurting someone is just as concerning as hurting yourself, so it would make sense as to why most people would try to get them to avoid doing that. Would u try to prevent a murder is another question? Ask them what they'd need it for (murder weapon)? Another question, would u do your best to prevent a family member or friend a suicide and/or them killing other people?
