Ironically this site has kept me alive and thanks to this community, I won't be risking risky methods such as painkiller OD which is painful.

There should be a method of exclusions list here too. I see so many people desperate to Ctb and so am I at times but we should have a list of methods that people shouldn't try due to pain scale or ineffectiveness. I'm no pro life but it'll save people a lot of time and agony.

someone should do a study on how suicidal people stay alive by talking about how they want to commit suicide. it doesn't cure them but it keeps them alive for as long as possible.
some people want to shut forums like this down, but these forums do actually keep people alive and sometimes prevent people from committing suicide

Exactly it's such an uncomfortable topic to talk about but it's helpful to talk about it - sometimes, it can help others from ctb too prematurely or entirely even.

I also want to clarify that I'm assuming above that we want less painful methods to ctb since we've suffered already enough and that's why SN/N is such a popular choice. It's so frustrating that SN is becoming more limited. Why take away less peaceful methods or make them inacessible? It's just inhumane. People also have to realize that when we're desperate - we're going to resort to any method even painful ones sometimes, why not make it less painful for us. Give us a choice. It's our lives. Whether we're in physical or mental or even simply not wanting to exist, give us a choice to end it if we do choose to do so.

I understand, I've met a lot of kind and wonderful people here. I never thought when I began using SS that'd I'd find a community that was so caring.

Yes, there are some bad apples on here and people that don't mean well but overall I've had nothing but a good experience. Also, have a golden ticket out of here when the time comes. I'm happy that a community like this exists. Without it, I'd have to resort to more drastic measures with unclear instructions on how to orchestrate them and possibly end up in a worse state.

I have only been apart of this site for a couple weeks now but I can't tell you how much it has actually helped me. I do spend the majority of my time in the recovery forum when im on here but honestly just knowing that there are people who are feeling what I am feeling and know I am not alone has helped me a lot. When I first joined I was ready to ctb any moment and I even set up half a plan but now I feel like im on the road to getting better. I dont know if this will change or not but yeah so far everyone has been very kind to me.

This sense of community and honesty is quite unique and I have to say is quite powerful. There isn't any judgement, just acceptance and a willingness to listen and help. You don't see that too often in the real world. I have met a lot of wonderful people from this site. It is my hope to contribute as this forum has helped me and I wish to return the favor.

This forum does far more good than it does harm and it's helped far more people than something like r/suicidewatch ever has.

Yes, this site is needed as without it there would be a lot more failed suicide attempts with people ending up with damage. Knowledge and planning of the methods is needed for them to succeed and without this, methods can easily fail.

I think as a whole this site gives me more confidence that I can actually go through with it eventually as of course suicide is very difficult. The only thing I want to read/hear about is suicide, other topics make me feel worse. It is comforting reading about death as it is the one thing I want the most and it is the only way to end all the suffering.

This place serves as a kind of relief valve for me, allowing me to vent when I am feeling suicidal.

It also helps calm me, ironically, by knowing that so many options exist and that so many people feel similarly.
