I miss having a door, intensely more stressfull knowing that kinda anyone can just walk in my appartment and steal my shit or whatever. And when I'm sleeping, there well... isnt anything i can do about it if they're in any way sneaky.
Maybe it's different there, but I'm pretty sure either the police or your landlord have to install a temporary lock in this situation, even if it'll probably be a padlock.

Alright, this person is suicidal and has severy anxiety... the only logical approach... SEND THE COPS, MAKE SURE THEY'RE IN THE BIG SCARY TRUCKS TOO, FUCK YES BOYYYYYYYYYS WOOOHOOOOOOO. Nothing less anxiety inducing than a bunch of dudes with guns showing up at your place to bash your fucking door in.
Meanwhile, they send like, maybe a single cop car for domestic violence cases. Maybe 2 if the guy is like, being extra violent. But for the suicidal guy with no history of violence, drugs, and not even a single ticket... ALL THE COPS
To quote Ragna the Bloodedge, "It's like killing a cockroach with a howitzer." Seems a bit like overkill. That aside, I'm aghast at such a blatant disregard for privacy.
On the bright side, you have people who truly care for you. Even if they did something to make you angry, they were worried enough to call the police. Thats a good thing,
also why tf did they need 3 police cars and 6 cops? Almost looks like you were swatted lol
I don't know about anyone else, but this would NOT be a sign that anyone cares for me. Definitely not a good thing unless you are an attention seeker who wants to be "saved" in the nick of time.
Yea, sure, just go ahead and obliterate my door and the general safety/privacy of my dwelling..and while you're at it, interrupt my suicide attempt, the only thing I have to end my excruciating existence, preferably at the hour in which brain damage may settle in. Yea, what a fantastic idea...

Some organization or other conducted a massive analysis of fatal shootings by U.S. police officers, and came to the conclusion that fully 25% of all the people killed by cops were mentally ill. I can't be bothered to look up the study at the moment since looking at that shit will only make me helplessly enraged again, and I'm sick of that because I spent all of 2020 that way.
But the takeaway is that you should not ask for the cops to do a "welfare check" on anyone you would like to remain alive. For those who don't know what "swatting" is, it's the art of calling U.S. emergency services on someone you expressly want to traumatize and/or have killed. That's where we are now. Our civil protection agencies are being used as murder weapons. Suicide methods too, most probably. I know I've thought about swatting myself as a means of ending my miserable existence. Someone actually told me that it would be terribly selfish for me to do that because what if the cop who chose to shoot me got PTSD from having to watch me die? I never wanted to reach through the internet and smack someone with a rolled-up newspaper more than at that moment.

I really hope they fix it soon, i can't leave my appartment with the door being fucked, and i'm lowkey running low on food, was planing to go do groceries tomorrow but... i have lost door privilege.
Was hoping 2021 would be less shit than 2020, but it's literally coming bashing through my door to be a shit ass year.
But it's ok, my dad feels better about the situation now. The added stress and traumatism that i'm dealing with doesnt matter, he feels slightly better. Entirely worth it.
This happened to me once and they told my housemate at the time that they would pay for the damage.. then they turned around and said they wouldn't so I had to find over £1000 to fix the front door as it was a rented property. Absolute joke. Way to make life even more difficult for me. It was just the cops way of showing that they were in control of me.. I hate them

OMG.. I'm so sorry. This is more evidence to not say a word to anyone. Unfortunately, for the pro-lifers, this means more death by suicide and that's where this forum comes into play. We get to talk through our plans and make sure that we are doing the right thing for our self and others with less retribution.
On a side note, I travel to Canada a lot and have a house up there. One time, I was inches from getting arrested by a Mountie for publicly swearing. I shit you not...fuck, I shouldn't have said the word shit...God damnit, there I go again...Call the fuckin Mounties...can't stop swearing...HELP!!!

Did they bash your door for "wellness checks", or for buying illicit substance for suicide? Also, who's gonna pay for the door? Did they give a reason?
I hope you are doing well even after the traumatic event and headache.

They bashed my door for a welness check, i literally did nothing wrong. No suicide threats, no criminal activity, no suspicious behavior, no buying SN or other such things. My dad just... felt worried, so now i lost the privilege of having a door. Still haven't been contacted by anyone about it either, so who knows when/if i'm getting me fekkin door back :/

I'm now both scared of being in my appartment, and of leaving it at the same time. Also scared of both talking to my parents, and ignoring them. This is amazing.

Sorry to see the door damage Bootleg Astolfo . Always wondered why a police presence is needed in mental health scenarios, their appearance alone can make already tense situations worse. Still, they cease to amaze me how they think bashing your door to smithereens is going to seriously put you at ease that they care for your welfare .

I could understand like, a single cop car, maybe a second one kinda just hanging around a bit back in case, like, that wouldnt make me scared, i'd just be confused as to why they want to talk to me. But 3 cars in front of my place with 6 cops doing to my door what american cops do to black people is... kinda just really scary and makes me affraid of doing anything ever.

Oh, they don't just do it to black people.
The cops here don't discriminate, despite what the media wants you to believe.
I've seen plenty of videos of cops harassing (or shooting) mentally ill white people.

Ditto on being scary and feeling afraid, it's like living in a police state . Btw, had similar experience with mental health services in which expressing suicidal thoughts to an organisation led to 24/7 privacy invasion...all from tracing an IP address I was using at the time. Didn't know American cops still do that to black people, would've genuinely thought lessons got learnt after George Floyd.
The UK police were once going to knock my door in, my bungalow only has one door so I'm not sure how they'd expect me to secure it.
Funny enough I was walking the dog and had walked past police cars and wondered where they were going.
Thankfully the police phoned my mobile as well I reported a crime previously and it was on system. So I just told them where I was cos putting my door in would be annoying and make me paranoid to leave house, go to sleep.
A so called friend rung them because I'd not been online for a day, I said nothing of been suicidal, it was just cos have mental health problems and was out of character to not be online.
Roughly 24 hours later still no news whatsoever... Guess i'll have to contact the landlord myself tomorrow since either the cops didnt do their job, or the landlord doesnt consider giving me any news to be worth his time... I've ran out of any food that isnt ramen, would be real nice if they could install it quickly so i can go like, buy food. Or even just go do some sort of exercise outside...

This is why I am incredibly cagey about saying anything to anyone concerning my despondence: If you have a recorded history of psychological disturbance, police are completely absolved from taking outlandish action to ensure your safety in situations wherein any action is superfluous -- they're even sanctioned to do so. I mean, seriously -- talk about instigating the development of a recalcitrant, alienated mindset.
