They are Defunding Cancer Research in The US

As we all should know, recently in the US there have been some very bad situations happening in the political world. Trump was reelected and shortly before this he was shot in an attempted assasination. Not to say the assasination attempt was bad....persay. im not going to state my opinion very outwardly seeing as i can only say that i wish terrible things to happen to that man that I dont feel comfortable even typing up on my keyboard right now.

That being said, recently, i have heard about the newest addition to all of this tomfuckery that is happening in the government right now.

They took millions of dollars away from childhood cancer research.

full stop.

that is what happened.

The following are the pediatric cancer measures that Republicans excluded in the new continuing resolution bill:

• A program that rewards researchers for approvals of pediatric cancer drugs with valuable vouchers that require faster Food and Drug Administration reviews of another drug application of any kind. The priority review voucher program was to be extended until 2029.
• A program that would allow kids with cancer who are covered by Medicaid and the Children's health insurance program known as CHIP to receive out-of-state treatment.
• New authority for the FDA to fine companies when they don't complete required pediatric studies. The FDA already has this authority for adult studies.
• New FDA authority to require that companies study pediatric drugs in combination with other treatments for the same disease when those treatments are owned by the same company or are available as generics.

In short, Children with cancer now have less freedom with their healthcare than adults and getting medication will be more difficult. Getting help outside of the state they are in will be made more difficult or impossible and- oh well i dont know- THEYRE KIDS. THEY NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET RIGHT NOW. WHY ARE WE CUTTING ANY OF THE FUNDING GOING TOWARDS KIDS FOR ANYTHING EVER?

How fucking awful. Kids with cancer need the support and guidance and healthcare just as adults do, and they do this? Really shows how little the government actually gives a fuck. as far as I know with all the research ive done in the past 24 hours, no. No one can do anything about it other than spread the word everywhere and anywhere possible. There are a lot of big creators using their platforms to speak on the matter but other than that, there has yet to be anyone stepping up in a position of authority to do anything to stop this.

I need to mention as well that this is all happening because ELON MUSK told these people to do this and for no other reason but that. Elon Musk, the guy who just has a lot of money and no seat in office whatsoever. Do with this information what you will.

I am mortified at the state of the US government right now.

The only answer I can think of is, money. If you have enough money in america and shake enough hands, you get whatever you want it seems...its truly a terrible thing to be happening right now. And always
