I accidentally stumbled across SS when I was Googling painless ways to end my life. There was a random article that mentioned a forum that encouraged people to take their own lives. I looked it up, out of curiosity, and what I found was a group of people who feel and think the way I do. This group ended up saving my life because I no longer felt alone.

Life is getting hard again and I don't know if I'm going to CTB anytime soon. I don't know if I ever will. But here is a place full of compassionate people that neither encourage nor discourage. They're just here to help and listen in any which way they can.

If we had this in our daily lives, in person, maybe the suicide attempts would decrease. Love, compassion, and a strong attempt to be understanding and emphatic.

You are right, Sasu was not the first, but now is considered the most famous in the world for the investigations that we all know, and this matters more than anything. I think they will not be able to ignore us forever.

They are not ignoring us anymore. I hope this sparks a discussion within reasonable people about the state of the world and what should be done to limit the suffering of humanity, specially by its own hands.

People around the world will see that speaking about these "dark" desires actually makes you think more clearly about them. Some will act on them, sure, but some will reflect and see that maybe there is a better place than death.

Suicide is never just about death. It's about life, and why it wasn't worth living it in the first place. That is the crucial question everyone should ask themselves, here and outside.

@Fall_Apart I remember there were other similar forums before Sanactioned Suicide. This proves shutting down forums do not work because new ones will spring up.

SaSu wasn't the first. There have been multiple communities even back on the usenet days. Until suffering exists, places like this will exist. They want us gone, then start eradicating suffering! Maybe we'll not need SaSu on a world that treats most of its inhabitants with respect, compassion, and dare I say, humanity!

@Unbearable Mr. Bear The internet is a marketplace for suicide methods. When i was a teenager I came across a website from a man explaining how to kill yourself with carbon monoxide. The man actaully died.

I do not see people demanding we shut down Google because that website still appears of Google.

Tell me about I hate it when people in my life tell me that I have my whole life ahead of me for a relationship .

At 18 I thought I will have a boyfriend that didn't happen. I thought I would meet my bf during my undergraduate years that didn't happen, I thought I would meet a man at work that didnt happen now at 28 still no man .

Its never going to happen for me anymore. I have no time anymore to wait. Its gets harder and harder in your 30s and 40s.

I feel you. People keep telling the same thing: "You have your whole life ahead of you". Usually people who haven't lived their whole lives without feeling intimacy or romantic love :/.

that's the really great thing about villainization of mindsets/philosophies that don't need to be villanized: when they're talked about more, they bring people together. right-to-choose suicide, misanthropy, antinatalism.

@Greyhawk Never having a boyfriend I feel so undeveloped in my sexuality that I don't feel like a real woman. Society associates losing your viginity as growing up because sex is an adult act.

When I am around other women i feel different from them. Women talk about their relationships but I cant relete and they cant relete to me because they necer experienced never being wanted and chosen.

As a women there is no support to talk about this. I once posted on r/two Chromosomes a womens sub on reddit about being sad over being single. Majority of women ignored my post and others just dismissed my feelings

Meanwhile all the thousands of posts about women complaining about their boyfriends being lazy or unhelpful get all the attention and full support

@manicstreetbeeper I used to think people who killed themselves were selfish because I was raised to believe that. Now being suicidal myself I wouldn't wish this torment on anyone.

Nothing gives me relief anymore from this pain. I just want all these thoughts to stop.

At least there's hope, with the increasing community around suicide in general, that we find more minds alike and form bonds to make living more bearable...just like mama bear tries her best to provide connection, purpose, and love, which everyone here craves more or less. *smiles*

Same here. The NYT ran an article that was written like an ad. "Young people using the SODIUM NITRATE METHOD from SANCTIONED SUICIDE DOT NET! Do not go to SANCTIONED SUICIDE DOT NET or you will learn about their reliable SODIUM NITRATE METHOD!" well... What else to do?

@bluesky123 This was the exact article that led me to this website. If the media didn't take so much about sanctioned-suicide.net I wouldn't have known about it

This isn't the first of its kind (this forum in itself was formed due to r/SanctionedSuicide being banned, which itself was based on alt.suicide.holiday) and it won't be the last, because ultimately, there is a demand for this kind of thing.
I personally miss /suicide/ on 8chan.
