Not even really the work. I slacked off always at school it's prob easy to slack off at work.
But working all day all weekdays and probably an extra hour in the morning getting ready an extra hour in the evening coming back. Then feeling too tired to do shit. Waste up all your weekdays like that and you have only 2 days on the weekend. For some chud with kids that eats into his time more etc. Jesus lol brutal.

I feel attacked by those words lol but you're right. I'm the same way. Fuck around 80% of the time then get something done that people seem satisfied believing I took all day on. I spend a lot of time in the office so it looks like I'm grinding. I do a lot of hobby stuff while I'm sitting there but it can only go so far.

I've got a friend turning in his two weeks notice monday at his office. Said he's just going to take a couple months off. I'm happy for him that he gets to do that.

Depending on the job, it can be like that, I had jobs like that and it was more like 2h to get there and 2h to get back - hated my life, would cry every night and long for the Friday to come.

Nowadays I just feel useless and behind everyone else because I was 5 months off of work and before that I was getting my self esteem wrecked in a toxic project for 6 months.

Depression kills all my energy, work can actually energize me a little bit when I have a productive day and feel like I wrote smart code. I need to feel smart, feeling stupid kills everything in me.

It is brutal. I only work a few days a week as a casual staff and its beyond dreadful. In my opinion the worst part of work is being around society and other people. Makes me want to vomit at times

Nah, the work itself sucks as well as the time. The work itself requires you to be more social rather than intelligent which is so annoying to me. I hate at how humans value socialising so much. Though, at the same time, the time factor sucks a lot as well. For a wagie normie, there's a 71.4% (5/7 as a percentage) chance that they will wake up on one random morning which they will have to spend the entire day wage slaving away at a miserable job. That's just so scary to me. It truly scares me just how far normies are willing to go just to survive for as long as possible...

I think that's why most people get jobs they actually enjoy. People pick careers that are exciting to them.

Not everyone is cut out for every job I think. I wouldn't have the mindset for something technical or responsible.

The average person (at least here) spends about as much time at work as they spent in school: 7-8h a day.
Honestly doesn't sound too bad to me. You get about the same amount of free time, if not more, and you get paid.

I think people should only have to work part time not 40 or more hours a week that's ridiculous. I would have liked a career where I was actually helping people or animals otherwise it would feel pointless

i worked for a month in a customer support line, 12h per day 2/2 (2 days work, 2 off) and basically i didnt felt that i was 'living', it just felt like one whole month was erased,
I genuinely dont remember the whole month while i worked and what i did at days off, but then i decided to quit since i cant handle conversations over phone etc…

honestly, because work consumed all the time i basically didnt thought about ctb as much as i do now, i realized that working is my coping mechanism or sort of.

I feel you. I really dread going to the office, seeing people there makes me so anxious, so now I don't even go there since we are in hybrid and no from team is checking when I'm in the office.

But damn even at home I feel like kms all the time. Like who would want to pump out these stupid tax returns, and figuring out where to put the damn numbers in the form. And I can't even slack off because I'm afraid of authority unfortunately, I'm really afraid to be reprimanded for my work, so I put in a lot of efforts like a good wagie to pump out those returns.

Well whatever I've taken 2 weeks of PTO starting from June, and will spend all my savings on hookers and CTB in a hotel room with the rest of the money

I think about kms all the time during work tasks and time off.
Think you're tired now? try getting older and having less energy… or rather less enthusiasm for completing shit for yourself.

I used to self care and have enthusiasm/energy for Me time.
Now I don't give a flying fuck.

This^. I don't work a 9-5, I work longer shifts for less days a week. I have a pretty good degree of autonomy over my schedule as well. I love what I do, it's fulfilling, I feel like I make a difference, and it keeps me on my feet as I am not cut out for an office job. I can't sit still, I need to be kept on my toes or I get bored, and my job does just that. Find a job you love and suddenly it's not so mind numbing. My old job made me want to quit every day just thinking about going in, now I love it.
