  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

When a suicide occurs, there is often an outpouring of support for suicide "prevention" agencies and mental health organizations both of which are groups I do not want to line the pockets of through donations. I could write an essay on why I feel this way but I will keep it simple. These organizations either directly participate in forced psychiatry or support and funnel people into it through things such as suicide hotlines (which will forcibly commit you if they deem you to be a risk). I have no interest in supporting groups that commit and support what would be consider abuse and kidnapping if not done against a suicidal person by medical authorities. To give money to a group of people who would violently force me into submission and treat me as a non person "for my own good" would be akin to spitting on my grave.

To combat this, I know that I will have to divert potential donations less nauseating organizations. I am thinking of suggesting an anti hunger charity as they are non controversial.

I know this isn't much, I just had to get this out of my own head. Hopefully this post will be helpful for anyone else who shares my sentiment.

I absolutely agree with you. I remember being irritated when the estranged son of a severely depressed Belgian woman went on a rampage after she obtained medically assisted dying. He was outraged that he wasn't "consulted" and insisted that he somehow knew it wasn't what his mother really wanted. He hired a legal group to try to ban euthanasia in the entire country but failed. The audacity. The problem is even if you were to leave a perfectly coherent and eloquent letter behind explaining your wishes they would be dismissed as the ravings of a sick person. They are perfectly comfortable treating people who want to die or who take their own lives as irrational animals.

Oh, do you think that feeling is related to what the pro-lifers have done or said to you? They are usually a nuisance, even my family forced me to attend a motivational workshop "for my own good."

Personally I would never want a kid/teenager to go and hope they get help any way possible. Dying young is a tragedy but.. me. I would not step in to prevent I would try to talk...

But on the other hand I have no time. None. For any religious person or 'group' who prevent suicide because it goes against their religion/god. Fuck all of them. Most of these groups arc religious. Guaranteed.

Presumably the majority of people leaving have thought long and hard about a creator or a 'god' and have decided. I know I have.

I simply believe as humans we are not supposed to know 'god' or possibly unable to comprehend it. Earth could be a farm for all I know.... It's a beautiful jaw dropping mind boggling thing Mother Earth... And all the space surrounding. It's hard to grasp.

Personally for me right now my shell. My body. My time here feels done. I have looked at all ways out and how to push forward and rebuild and enjoy life.

There is no way forward for me now.

Everything recycles. With some luck the spiritual energy within me recycles itself somehow. If reincarnation does exist there is good reason why we forget previous lives.

We are not supposed to know why we are here.

I see suicide prevention as just prolonging suffering. The society tries to force us to live and does not respect our wishes to die. Many people live under a delusion that life is always worth living and that suicide must always be prevented. The truth is that we have the right to exit this world at a time of our choosing, and it is our life, our decision and nobody else has any say in it. Many non suicidal people are in denial of the fact that things can get that hopeless that one would want to exit. They therefore dismiss all suicides as irrational.

I cannot emphasize how much I agree to this. They seem to think that being suicidal cannot be rational so you must be nuts and treated against it. I wish suicide would be respected, not thought as sign of mental illness!
