I believe you. I'm schizophrenic and this sounds eerily familiar. Link and link to show that this does happen in psychosis. Importantly, I'm *not* saying that your shadow isn't real (links might suggest they aren't but I think it's more complicated than that). But if your goal is to be free of the shadow, there are certain antipsychotic medications that may help you perceive your shadow less frequently. It may be worth seeing a psychiatrist, specifically about your shadow? If that's not possible - or if that doesn't feel right to you - then I'm genuinely so sorry. It's terrifying being followed around by shadows.
