There is no use in telling others you're going to kill yourself if you're not interested in them doing anything but agreeing with the endeavor.
I completely agree with you, but a lot of people come here in times of desperation. Emotions running that high, you are bound to make some mistakes. And to be honest, judging by the kinds of threads that pop up regularly on the "suicide" discussion a lot of people just want to vent, and want someone to talk to. Maybe someone listening will make them change their minds about CTB.
Since i have first decided to CTB, there are definitely a few phone/in person conversations i wish i could take back. They haven't complicated my life too much but i realize it reflects that impulsively suicidal, desperate headwind.
CTB is a matter that should be taken calmly, with all the necessary preparations and rationalizing done beforehand. But when we've done all that, we shouldn't forget that there are still really raw human emotions that first drive us to that place.
