Well, don't upgrade? I guess it's easier in the Android world, because it takes years for ecosystem to evolve to a place where you might want to upgrade your OS, and custom firmware communities might push this back for even longer.

I try not to be one of the first people that upgrades anyway because the first upgrades always have all kinds of bugs and stuff in them and I don't want to have to deal with it. I figure, let somebody who's more technologically advanced than I am work out the bugs and then I'll upgrade. I don't usually get the very latest phone when I get one anyway. I get the previous version, whatever that happens to be. That way I know all the bugs and stuff are most likely worked out of it. Though, of course, they're always giving you patches for security breaches and all that kind of stuff. I'm assuming at some point they're going to reach some kind of endpoint where they can't really do much of anything to improve the phone. For example, they're already releasing new versions of iPhone where the only upgrade is a better camera or something. That's not enough for me to buy a new phone, especially if it cost $1000.

Stay off your phone/any backlit devices. The blue light suppresses melatonin production and will make it even harder for you to sleep.

Yes. You will, I promise. I was terrified after my first week without sleep. Every time I nodded of I'd jolt awake again.
Eventually exhaustion takes over and you will sleep. It may not be for long and it may not be enough but it will keep you going. You may end up having microsleeps like I do. These days I seriously cherish every half hour.
Well I'm only espousing my experience, you may be different but I believe you WILL sleep eventually.
Ironic though how the longer you stay awake the more you worry about it making it even harder to get to sleep.
