Going pretty good. We're reminiscing on old cartoons :)
I love old cartoons. That's another thing they don't make like they used to.

hi everyone. I wasn't up too late but have terrible stomach pains today. Good news is should be calling my nitrogen vendor soon as my exhaustion lifts a bit.

hope everyone's day goes well

when you posted a pic about running out of rum I knew you were up to no good

which led zeppelin album? I honestly am a huge fan but have not been able to enjoy since I read child rape allegations against jimmy page.
I hadn't heard that before about Jimmy Page, but I guess I'd say if I stopped listening to every band & performer that did anything like that, I wouldn't listen to any music because every one of them has done all kinds of horrific things. Not that I'm condoning child rape, but you did say allegations. Did they prove anything? I just never know anymore when I hear something like this about a famous person. I don't know if it really happened, or if the person is just trying to extort them for money or something or trying to ruin their career or get them "cancelled". I know they did lots of horrible things to lots of women, but I still listen to them. I don't know I guess it depends for me. If they don't go out and make constant statements about their politics, then I don't pay much attention to that stuff unless there's proof of it. I just don't like it when performers go out trying to push their politics on other people. If they do that, then I can't separate their politics from whatever art they produce and I usually just quit listening or watching.

Do you still watch movies and projects that Harvey Weinstein had any involvement in? Do you watch Woody Allen or Roman Polanski movies? I'm sure there are all kinds of people that we all watch and listen to every day that are guilty of all sorts of horrific things, in many cases we just don't know it. Again, I'm not trying to defend Jimmy Page or any other performer. I'm just saying I think the entertainment industry is probably filled with these kinds of people.

Shower? Pics!!!!! :blarg:
I'm back and haha that would be awful. I might love my personality and think my facial appearance is okay but my body is trash. I'm like a skeleton there's nothing worth admiring about it. Seeing the talk of cartoons though made me think of Looney Toons, Tom and Jerry and the Animaniacs. I miss those shows they don't even really run reruns of them anymore except at like 5AM or did they stop doing that too? I haven't checked in years.
You ever watch those old cartoons... on weed!?

Social psychology has some interesting answers to that question
I loved all of psych, especially social... the things where people all went along with others... I almost never did it. Teachers ran experiments on look! One person does things, everyone else joins in! Everyone in the class did something, I'd eventually look up, glance in the direction, and be like 'whatever and go back to what I was doing.

I'd disagree with the group no matter how much I was outnumbered. Iwas always the person who blew the stats lol. I was always into the lab coat, get people to do what you wanted, manipulate others into doing evil like fascination though... it's amazing to me how people can do that. .

At least that's mostly out of your control and due to age. I could make myself look better but the motivation for it dies every time I actually bother to try.
Well, skeletons can be pretty rad sometimes.

I feel like if I was Ainz I would be a lot happier actually lol. If only because having control over my situation and more power in general. Though I don't think I want to live as long as he probably will.

Care to give a more verbose answer?

As to why people don't like letting other people live? Lol i can try.

People's worldviews are generally adaptive and help them survive. Part of this is because we are social creatures and these traits are socialized. So if you grow up in an environment where people are really transphobic or homophobic then you are way more likely to pick up on that and replicate that. The inverse is also true - if you grew up in an environment like that and you displayed the OPPOSITE trait it would harm your chances of survival with that group/family/church/society/etc. To a large degree, people's egos and sense of self are totally bound to their belief systems.

When you come across perceived deviance from that worldview it can appear as a threat to your belief system - especially if that belief system has really superficial reasoning for considering something as deviant. This is then a threat to your sense of self, and to the group that you belong to. So i would reckon it is largely out of fear and also a measure of how judgmental and narrow-minded someone's worldview is that makes them stick their nose in other people's business about how they privately live their lives.

If the bible is wrong about homosexuals, then the thread starts to unravel. What else is it wrong about? Where does this line of inquiry end? For the committed Christian/Catholic, it's better to suppress this altogether and project the fear outwards as homophobia.

I hadn't heard that before about Jimmy Page...

Yeah it's pretty much confirmed. He dated her for two years when she was 14 onwards and there's corroborating reports, photos, etc.

I understand what you mean about entertainment industry being full of snakes. I don't go out of my way to look up stuff like this but i'm a really big LZ fan.

I just really looked up to Led Zeppelin growing up, jimmy page in particular, and it hurt me personally that one of my heroes was so involved in the sexual exploitation of a minor. There's also other stuff i don't like about LZ, like how much they pretty much just ripped off the black American blues canon.

But mostly it's the child rape stuff that bothers me. I still really love their music from a music perspective.

I have a bunch of those on my Hulu. I still watch them all the time. They're certainly better than a lot of the stuff they put out now.
I liked all the old Nickelodeon cartoons and the really old shows, like "You Can't Do That On Television". Plus I liked a lot of the Cartoon Network shows as well such as Johnny Bravo and Cow & Chicken and, of course, The Powerpuff Girls. I still watch South Park. I quit watching The Simpsons a long time ago when all the original writers were gone. But I still like a lot of the older episodes. Very occasionally I'll watch a newer episode. Batman:The Animated Series that introduced Harley Quinn. Teen Titans, not the current show which is Teen Titans Go, but the original more serious version of the cartoon. I could go on, but I won't. I don't know, I think if someone just looked at my eating habits & my TV viewing habits they'd probably think I was like 12 years old or something. Sometimes I think that's when I stopped developing in some ways because that's really when I got tired of being alive.

So... memes (in broad sense, not just internet memes) and dogmatism? I actually agree with most of it - except this bit:
People's worldviews [...] help them survive
Used to help, if you ask me. It seems that lots of ideas since the advent of language are fucking garbage that only serves to breed negative emotions. The main question for me is why, as you put it, do we accept belief systems with very superficial reasoning en masse.

Good afternoon! What happened, did they mess up your RX?
Pretty much. It's the doctor office's fault though for not sending the script in the right way to begin with. So now I have to play the waiting game with them to call me back, send in the script, blahblahblah

Those are some good show choices those are the cartoons I miss. It's funny how I was told you can't just watch cartoons your whole life. I proved them wrong! I don't mind being a kid in my heart and mind that's a decent escape from the atrocities of being an adult lol.

@BooGirl fuck transphobia, and fuck transphobes.

Dont ever give them that victory over you of suspecting they might be right about any of their bullshit. They are just antiquated, stuck in their ways types of folks who insist on forcing their worldviews on others.

You deserve to be comfortable being exactly who you are, and nobody can tell you what that is but yourself.
What's gonna happen when trans people are legislated out of existence? I'm scared tbh

They all dated underage girls. Everyone of the rock stars in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s dated and lived with and had sex with underage girls. Ted Nugent actually got permission from some girl's parents to take legal custody of her when she was under age. If you're going to stop listening to their music for that reason, then you're going to have to stop listening to all their music because they were all guilty of it. You might as well never listen to another record from the 60s, 70s or 80s ever again because they all did it. And you probably also better stop listening to rap music because they also exploit young girls.
What about Elvis and Priscilla. Wasn't Priscilla under age when he started dating her? I believe Tina turner was just a teenager when Ike Turner started dating her and married her? Mick Jagger. . . I could go on and on.

I would also say you're judging things that happened years ago by the standards of today which I don't think is right. I'm not saying the things they did were right because I don't think they were, but there were different standards back then. You're taking today's standards and judging what they did 20, 30, 40, or more years ago by the standard of today which I don't think is fair.
