Reproduction. The meaning of life is to create life. Look at single celled organisms. The most basic forms of life. They are born, split into 2 and die. If they did anything else in between I would be open for a different interpretation but they don't. We are not much different except we have advanced brains and limbs. We are born here to reproduce and then die. I fucking hate it.

That's certainly our core drive. To ensure the survival of the species. Is that really a 'meaning' though? In any case, the wrinkles in the plan haven't been ironed out. We've been so good at reproducing ourselves and surviving that the planet we rely on for our very survival is buckling under the pressure. To the extent that we may very well drive our own extinction- which we know and yet, we still keep reproducing. For the dominant species, we're pretty dumb. Plus, in any case, we can predict the sun will die and destroy the earth at some stage regardless.

I'm not sure the drive to reproduce is really a meaning exactly. It's simply another need we have evolved to have. Just like drinking when we are thirsty. Drinking isn't a meaning. It's simply a solution to feeling thirsty. F*cking is a solution to feeling horny.

I suppose the choice to bring children here can give parents a sense of meaning but ultimately, aren't they simply following primal urges?

I think 'meaning' is a very human concept. I doubt trees or dogs contemplate whether their life is important enough to have meaning. It seems more like they just live.

If 'meaning' is a human invention then surely, human values could adequately apply. Maybe someone feels their 'meaning' is to discover, invent or create something new. Maybe to make those around them happy, or to rescue animals. Alternatively, we're free to feel like our lives have no meaning so, either live hedonistically or, don't bother to do anything because, nothing has value. I think it's a personal path.

Reproduction as the core drive still seems to be the best idea for a meaning. Just by personal logic and rational I guess.
Meaning being defined as what is meant by an action or concept.

So, if there is another "meaning" it wouldn't be possible with life's inherent meaning, reproduction, to complete it.

You could way up every day, with the only goal in mind, to try to find a red plant. You could walk across your entire city and not rest, until you found that red plant, to complete your idea of a meaning to your existence.

Still, you wouldn't have woken up to find that red plant if it wasn't for your parents reproducing.

Huh. That depends on how we all decide to look at "life". Do we choose duality?

Life here is shitty on every level. Wars, bombs, institutions, unjust laws, lost people, lost children, harm being done to nature and animals. That's a really really dark reality for us to be in wether we choose to look deeply into things or not. This place is dark very dark.

Life can be wonderful. Beautiful scenery, trees, mountains, water, ecological systems, boobies, the cycles of weather and new life made very moment.

Some people say we are here to learn lessons , to learn to love God, to have a chance at "experience" itself. Is it worth it or are those just excuses?

I think it's a little of everything but who the hell would want to live here? No country in our entire world is doing well right now. So some want to leave but they are told thats bad or a sin. Like I'm sorry buddy but I dont want to stay in a big poop box with you. I don't care how many flowers and nice smells you decorate it with. I'm glad you found a way but thats kinda your problem šŸ˜†. Lemme know when its a kinder world and I might come back. I'll tell your God how great of a job your doing and save you a seat in the smoking section of the bar. ā¤ šŸ˜‰

There is no meaning to life.

Nothing matters. Nothing matters to me except me avoiding unbearable pain or extreme suffering.

Plus me and a human is only cells, a machine, chemical reactions , an animal. A bug.

What purpose can chemical reactions have? None

I find it weird when people try to tell me that this is not the meaning of life because I remember having philosophy classes and when everyone was asked this question about what is the meaning of life to you, 80% of the class said it was to get married and have kids. The other 20% said the purpose of their life was to get rich.

We're just a tick on the back of Mother Earth. One day humanity will just be shrugged off and that will be that. There are just so many calamities on a cosmic scale just waiting to be. A black hole maybe. The sun will die off one day. This is guaranteed. Meteors. Asteroids. Plagues.

We're just the next thing, one day there will be something else.

Oof... If I could know the meaning to life I don't even think I'd wanna know. There's the obvious answer of reproduction and such. But I don't think there's any true meaning to life, it feels like the type of thing where you yourself has to give meaning to or else it'll constantly feel meaningless. That's how it all feels right now for me, meaningless. I used to think about the meaning of life all the time, it was maddening because I couldn't see any real reason.

Yeah, biologically speaking, we're just slightly more complicated meat-machines programmed to copy ourselves before decaying.

But what's really depressing isn't that life reduces to reproduction.
It's that we were given just enough self-awareness to realize how empty that loop is…
