Like the title says, does any one else feel that you're doomed in some way no matter what you do or what happens?

Like, even I somehow ever achieve fulfillment and satisfaction in one sense — mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, sexual, romantic, academic, artistic, etc. — I'm still doomed in another: environmentally (with stuff like climate change, pollution, etc. only getting worse) and politically (especially if you're a minority and people hate you and treat you like sub-human and want you to die for no good reason), etc.

So, if you really are doomed regardless, might as well CTB now — y'know, to nip all this dithering and suffering in the bud, right…?

One thing that comes to mind when I think about all this is, "OK? Just make the most of the time that's left and care about the things and people that are special to you. And besides, if you do ever truly achieve mental and emotional fulfillment/satisfaction, then would stuff beyond your control like climate change and politics really be able to penetrate/ruin that?" Or something like that.

But it's little more complicated than that, and telling myself these things can only make me feel so much better, and I'm sorry if I described all of this poorly, but — any thoughts on this?

yes everything alive here is doomed because 1. we will all die eventually, and 2. even if we could figure out a way to extend our lives indefinitely, our sun will eventually die and our planet with it.

humans were doomed from the start because they're so stupid the vast majority have no idea how the universe fundamentally works

i mean few people understand mathematics
radius R
diameter d = 2 * R
circumference = pi * diameter
area of a circle = pi * R^2
surface area 4* pi * R^2
enclosed volume V = 4/3 * R^3 *pi
volume formula for the sphere= (4/3)*pi*R^3

I don't honestly think about what will go wrong in the world in the future. I worry about not being successful, and if I was successful; I might throw away my career with a stupid decision. I might ruin important relationships that will affect me for the rest of my life, like how a certain burned bridge has been haunting me for the last 4 years. I might invest in something stupid and lose all my money. My chronic illness could get worse. I feel that I'm inherently an unlucky person who always puts the wrong foot forward. I feel like I am destined to fail no matter what I do, in some way or another. Of course, having a lot of money can solve many problems. But it wouldn't stop me from driving people away for the rest of my life or becoming sicker (physically or mentally) than I already am.

Yes I have that feeling being doomed since years because I just cannot pull my self out of the hole I'm trapped in and I don't see a suitable way anyway and all attempts failed.

Yes, I just find existence to be something so hopeless and dreadful in general, I dread to think of what lies ahead and I just think it's a terrible punishment existing in such a harmful world where suffering is inevitable. I was doomed as soon I was brought here, the only relief for me lies in not existing.

I just feel doomed in general, no matter how much I fight, I'll still end up nowhere, love isn't real, happiness exists just not for me etc, hopefully in death I'll find something

Yeah, it's all very depressing stuff. It's so damn hard being trapped in a human body, especially with all the crap that is going on today. There is too much corruption in the world, and as the great poet Charles Bukowski said, 'People are not good to one another.'

eventually i am going to die - whatever i do with my small, insignificant life is ultimately pointless in the grand scheme of things. any efforts that we make as individuals to reverse climate damage, for example, could be violently reversed in an instant - whether that be by nuclear war, or a natural cataclysm.

The world is much smaller than that. How many people can relate to things pre-ww2? Many societies can't remember major events happening only a few decades ago. Who controls the present controlled the past. Who controls the past controlled the future. Everyone not controlling the present is doomed.

The world is much smaller than that
1 meter = 1000000000 nm
the circumference of the earth is 40,075,000 meters or 40,075,000,000,000,000 nanometers
the radius of the earth in meters 6,371,000 meters or 6,371,000,000,000,000 nanometers

enclosed volume of a sphere V = 4/3 * 6,371,000,000,000,000^3 *pi
equals 1.08×10^48 or
1,080,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

The number of atoms in the world is around 1.3 x 10^50.

How many of these atoms are you? And how many can you control? This is the real world, your world.

number of atoms in the human body 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
there's 8 billion humans on the earth they make up 56,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms

i don't control any atoms not that i am aware of

I very much feel this too. I feel like no matter what we are doomed in some way or another, especially now.
