The end of an era

I am looking at the empty subforum page with only two threads (one of which, ironically enough, is about a method) and I can't help but feel this is the end of an era.

I'm grateful that at least the old subforum is archived and not permanently deleted.


Edit: I notice the thread about the method has disappeared.

I read the post, it does not explain why others can reply to these threads while I seem to be unable to. And some of the archived posts were made just a few minutes ago too. It doesn't make sense.

I'm assuming we're not supposed to be able to reply in archived posts since it destroys the point of them being achieved.

Right. For a minute there it looked like there were others that were replying while I could not, but I took another look and it seems like the last reply was made about 10 minutes ago. Probably just a weird technical thing in the midst of all this sudden unexpected change.

It's archived though, I don't think this need spell the end of the site as a whole. Just a turning point, hopefully temporary!

Change is constant in every aspect of our lives. I've seen alot of change in my 2 years here now but this is definitely a big one. Hopefully things will swing back to some semblance of what it was.

Seriously wtf happened. I took a short break from SS to gather my thoughts and logged on this morning to find this place completely gutted. I guess the forced-lifers won. The site owners had to step down, the forum had to turn private and now all the archived information is lost.

If I am completely honest I only logged on to read some stories for the last time as I am preparing myself mentally for what I am about to do. I wished I never checked. Knowing what this community has been reduced to makes me feel uneasy.

This is going to force a lot of people to ctb. When people lose their last refuge and safe space they have no reason to continue living. Why can't these asshole forced-lifers realize they are one of the main reasons why people ctb in the first place.

I guess this experience summarizes life in general. You have no control over life and all things must come to an end.
