Discussion The Discovery/Parallel Universes

the discovery is a fictional movie about a suicidal wave world wide, where people have evidence of an afterlife. Spoilers. it discusses the theory of living out every possible choice you could have made in your life (given that infinity and parallel universes are real ) and once finally doing so you return to the afterlife. It also suggests that people who take their lifes move into an ultinate reality where they survived and made slightly different choices, living out every possible senario.


side track, I watched this as a kid and after every attempt I made would wake up thinking I was in another universe where I made slightly different choices and survived.

this made me believe in both free will and chance simultaneously. In my opinion you have the ability to choose which ultinate reality you go to but they all have already happened. For me The ability to think of the past and future is proof I exist beyond my present moment. and humans can only percieve time in one direction, linnier, but time is man made and everything is happening all at once. but the present moment allows you to choose which one you travel too.

that's just my theory and personal opinions tho I'd love to hear what others think of it

Interesting but like with all religions, my question is always: 'Why?' Why is it so important for us to experience life as a mortal in possibly every variation going if we are in fact immortal, spiritual beings? What does it matter if I chose cornflakes or toast for breakfast? If I chose to study science or music? If I gave to this charity or, that one? If this is all some learning curve, to what possible end?


The only thing I can come up with is we are all in training to become Gods ourselves. What better experience is there as a creator than to live as your creations for a while? In which case, I hope we all agree not to curse another planets worth of beings with this shit.

Thank you! I couldn't agree more! yes! we come fro start dust so we are the universe and maybe the universe/god is learning about itself through our eyes. why? maybe the universeis confused about somthing, whatever it is, it's to do with emotions for sure.

I prefer to imagine that after death a new story begins rather then a slight variation of a previous one. That sounds like torture.
