  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Life is shit. For many, if not most. The lucky ones have strong family and/or friend relationships which maybe more than any other single factor, help to sustain them.

I mean life is overall, objective shit. Happy and healthy now? Wait till you're older. Wait till misfortune befalls you or your loved ones. Enjoy the uncertainty every day. Love that we are ALL on death row from the day we're born and love that we're expected to slave away all our lives for the privilege of continuing this meat sack existence.

All that said. Indubitably we humans have a deep seated horror of death and the cessation of this existence however objectively shitty. It explains why we continue to endure the unbearable every single waking moment. We just can't conceive of anything beyond our own existence, because we have no experience of such, by definition.

Life really does appear preferable to death in that sense. It's the devil we know as contrasted with our instinctive horror of the unknown. This accounts for most people clinging to life through dreadful and hopeless illness, disability or other misfortune. Many of us are simply alive by default. I know I am.

We are all just trapped. Like mice, rats in a cage at the mercy of the cosmic vivisector who is utterly heedless of the suffering he/she inflicts in the name of science. Naturally we spend our lives pursuing distractions. The less time you spend considering this predicament 'life' the better.

We love what causes us pain. We have Stockholm Syndrome. We cling desperately to our suffering because it is all we know. Most of us are not 'in love with life', we are abjectly afraid of the alternative. There is no 'carrot' here just the big stick. Most of our efforts and energy are spent trying to avoid a worse alternative. It's not 'pessimism' it's fact.

Like I said. If you are fortunate in life you have family, friends and a partner and good social support to carry you through the worst indignities. Without that 'cushion' you play the shitty game on hard mode. Many of us here fall into the latter category. Every day is mental struggle and/or physical endurance, while just to add insult to injury we are expected to be 'positive' and 'grateful'. Very much like a slave who is forced to thank his or her 'owner' for the privilege of being mistreated, demeaned and denied the most basic human rights.

I don't blame or hate my parents for bringing me here. They were programmed and primed to do so by the same society that has fucked me over. This is the philosopher Cioran's 'trouble with being born'. Prevention is a million times better than any 'cure' that can be applied after birth. The damage is already done. We are caught, innocent, laughing babies, in the heartless wheels of an inexorable and unstoppable machine that has no conception of our 'best interests' let alone concern for them.

Yep. Life is the devil we know. Very true. I think social reasons are among the primary reasons for unhappiness and a lot of suicide along with severe pain or health issues. It is unfortunately common for children who differ from their family to suicide because they feel alone or their family shuns them. Like gay children in a devout anti gay religious family. ☹️

To me, life is just meaningless suffering. I see no point to it all, and it is all completely unnecessary, we were all perfectly fine not existing until we were forced to live. I have no interest in being alive and I am horrified by the amount of pain that exists in this world. More than anything I wish that it was easier to leave, all that I want is to not exist, as when I am dead I will be incapable of suffering.

Thats powerful words you say, and yet life is often a series of randomness, where we deal with the cards that are given to us.We hav e little control and We don't chose our family!. I didn't chose to get a terminal disease but it will end my life. Yes you'd be right. We cling to people, to material things. We cling to life but most people dont give any thoughts to dying but we all do die. Thats why people fear death beyond Si. Most people don't appreciate life out of fear of so much. And then they die.
