I tested it today to see what it would be like. I held the mask on my face without a strap to ensure if I blacked out nothing would happen. Everything just started to get fuzzy and when I sensed the world slipping away I took of the mask. I'm not as scared as I was before, but maybe that's my adrenaline. I still need to get a cooking bag to ensure that any leaks in the rebreather won't cause me to become brain damaged.

Are you located in the US? I'm a female and I'm looking at this method but when I'm thinking of a cover story to buy the nitrogen I just don't think anything is believable. Idk how nitrogen is used to make beer and idk why anyone would use nitrogen to make beer. What excuse did you use?

I just went to my local airgas and told them my dad asked me to buy it. Asked me what he was using it for just said I don't know he tinkers, maybe welding? Your story doesn't have to be super convincing. Your mind is probably just trying to make up reasons to not go and do it because of survival instinct.

How many breaths did you take? Did you try it with a pulse oximeter on your finger?
I don't know how many breaths. I didn't hyperventilate or anything before just put it on and started breathing normally. Went for maybe 15 or so seconds before vision got blurry and took the mask off. I'd have to guess maybe about 15 breaths, none very deep, just normal breathing.
Did it again today. Made sure to clear my lungs this time. Only took like 6-7 breaths to reach the same point. About 10 seconds.

It's with a non-rebreather mask off amazon. I spent some time forming it to my face to make sure it is pretty much airtight. It consistently pulls vacuum and doesn't leak so it is airtight. I just want one of the cooking bags to double make sure it will be effective if it starts leaking while I'm out.

did ur mask have the reservoir bag? if it has, did u keep it inside the exit bag or did u remove the reservoir? im thinking of removing the reservoir and placing the mask in exit bag. do u think this would work or u see any issues?Similar threads
