As someone who was/is suicidal, his video is absolutely abhorrent and makes me more suicidal. Rather than deconstructing any of the reasoning or philosophy, he just calls the site a cult. He gives an overview of the reasoning and just says it's bad or unworthy of even discussing. We need to discuss these sort of ideas because if we just ignore them then we won't know what we're for if we don't know what we're against. As an agnostic, I'm no longer as anti natalist as I was due to remaining uncertainty of pre birth and the nature of reality and all that mcdazzle, but I still stand with anti natalists against people who are out to demonize them without actually understanding the argument being said and having no empathy or rational reasoning (or at least any that they bother to express).

while i agree with him that the site has an undoubtedly toxic side to it, that's something that should be expected with any online forum and it's in my opinion part of the freedom with this place. just have to hold your own self-awareness, even though i know a lot of us are likely pretty vulnerable. i think the absolute effort these people are going through to silence us off the internet is ridiculous, and that these sorts of sites need to exist for the internet to function.

but for the vast majority of users, this place is a safe place to talk about our experiences and feelings, and relate to one another. because the average person will begin to see you as sub-human and if they do acknowledge your existence at all it's "talk to a therapist" or "you are not alone" or "things will get better"

the thumbnail is also just, ridiculous lol. as i mentioned, toxic users will exist because it is a public forum full of vulnerable souls but i haven't caught a single whiff of someone telling anyone to just straight up "do it." granted, i haven't been here long, but i've been looking around. out of curiosity, i guess. it's so exaggerated. wishing people the best isn't encouragement. i just want some people to find their peace.

while his comment section is really supportive to him, there's a damn good reason, it's because all of us would be jumped by his subscribers without a doubt obviously :p but in the end - i think that video benefitted this site more than it benefitted him.

I definitely agree. While there are certainly toxic aspects and situations in which other methods of support should be shown but aren't but this site actually allows us to express our feelings and actual thoughts and rational without being shut down, patronized, harassed, or even downright abused for some.

He should worry more about the impressive numbers of mass shooting in the USA and make videos about that.

Every method that is discuss here can easily be found by searching google for a few hours. I even found one method on google that nobody or almost nobody talk about here.

Lol true, I ended up here too because of his video
Its hilarious how he tried to ""expose"" the site but achieved the exact opposite effect, only attracting more attention to this place...
