• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Has anyone tried to talk to other suicidal people? Maybe it could be interesting. We can't talk to our friends about it, since they either don't understand it or don't want anything to do with it.

If someone is down to talk over Skype or something, that could be cool - maybe a group of people or something. Idk, It's just a thought - maybe we could learn something.

I'm 28(M) btw.

I'm talking to someone from this forum and it's amazing, suicidal people really are much more empathetic than other people.

It definitely makes me feel understood and less alone. Just like a lot of things, SI is not something most people understand.

I have been chatting with people here. I have sort of consolidated my thoughts about death and afterlife. I am still not certain of course. But I just feel it doesn't matter whatever it might be.

It has definitely been helpful for me to connect with other people here. However, there is a huge risk in investing too much in these types of friendships. I am scared to get close because we all do have one common goal: potentially ending our own lives. I want to minimize: a) the number of people I'd hurt if I CTB, and b) the number of people I'd be hurt from if they were to CTB.

It is a huge emotional commitment and I'd recommend approaching it with caution. I do find solace in posting here though, and getting responses from others has been life-altering. BUT, I try and be very specific about who I get close to on here on other platforms. For better or worse, this website will attract a lot of broken, hurting people.

Outside of this website, the same thing still applies. But I get wanting to have friendships that feel real. Friendships in which you feel super understood.

It is a fine line, and one worth treading carefully.

The people here are really very kind.
Maybe because everyone is suffering and understands the other's suffering.
about making friends is something similar to people who treat cancer patients, did they just leave or die?
It's a difficult situation to describe, many of us want CBT because they can't connect with other people and they can do this precisely on a forum about CBT.

They're the most likely to see you off at the bus station with a smile and a wave. I like to think that before going the least we deserve is a hand to hold, not one that holds us back.

I've been speaking to someone here very frequently (YKWYA) and it has helped a lot. It's reassuring to be able to hold meaningful conversations regarding suicide, especially knowing you don't have to minimise your pain. Feeling as if you aren't pressured to appear healthy is quite refreshing. I also hope that I've been able to benefit others here, even just a little bit. We all deserve to be free from the restrictions placed on suicide. Despite the opinions held and spread by the media, being able to talk freely about our plans isn't "encouraging" suicide at all. Socialising with others who share our pain is truly liberating.

Suicidal people are more compassionate and well rounded because suffering builds character. Normies dont know what suffering is.

I talked to many over the span of 3 years ( still talk to a few). Sometimes you start to build a bond with them which may harm you later

I'm open to it, but nobody would be interested in talking to me. Even the few who have talked to me here have just "ghosted" me. I hate myself so much.

Talking with people here is amazing for our mental health. Being around like minded people is very therapeutic.

All I would say is be careful not to get too attached. I have made friends with people here, in AA, NA, in IRL MH groups and in every single one I have had close friends who just hung themselves or jumped off a building out of the blue.

Never forget we are all suffering from a deadly mental illness and you never really know how someone else is doing. In my experience we are the best liars on the planet when asked 'how are you?'.
