I read that if you take at least 1g that it sends you delirious so you don't know what's happening, and apparently 2500mg is sufficient to kill you. I like the fact that I won't know what's happening when I take it and I'm planning of walking into the countryside to take it so I shouldn't be caught. It does worry me that it won't work though, I've had one failed attempt taking it but I've got more this time. Does anyone know anything about this? Or tips on making an overdose work?
I just wanted to offer my experiences with Diphenhydramine (Benadryl, Unisom, Tylenol PM) overdoses. I recently became a widow and bereaved mommy. In attempts to join my husband and son, I've tried CTB with bottles of Diphenhydramine and have learned the (very) hard way that this is NOT the medication to achieve this result. All that happens is extreme vomiting for several days with only (at the most) 10-15 minute breaks in between, to catch your breath, before vomiting again. I'm talking about 4-5 days of this, unable to move your body at all except to puke. I share in hopes that someone will be spared this horrible experience.

Oh, also, now I'm not even able to handle (any) even a small dose of Benadryl anymore if I actually need to take it for allergies. My body automatically throws it up and then I continue vomiting for hours.

Sorry about your husband and son, I can't imagine how hard that must be.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I didn't know it could do that. I know there's reports of people dying of it but I don't really want to go through that.
I was going to take it tonight and you've made me think about it now it sounds a horrible experience to have gone through.
I hope you find some peace with all that, I send you hugs.
On YouTube, there are lots of videos describing failed attempts using this. All sound like a nightmare, like worst trip ever. Judging by that, it seems to be a popular OD for teenagers who are really just crying out for help. Probably because it's so readily available.
Overdoses in general aren't usually reliable. There aren't many drugs you can actually overdose on anymore. At least, not alone. A lot have additives to make you vomit, too.
The only over-the-counter method I've heard *might* be viable is Diphenhydramine (which may be available as Benadryl, or Nytol, or simply as Diphenhydramine, or perhaps some other product, depending on country)
HOWEVER, it is *not* considered to be a good method AT ALL.
Many people question whether it is reliable.
Apparently, you are likely to have severe hallucinations.
You may end up doing strange things (etc) and then be found/rescued. This could be a key reason why its reliability is questioned.
It sounds like a long, drawn out, painful, and very unpleasant process.
I haven't done much research, but from what I've heard, it sounds like a bad idea.
I suppose in a truly "last resort" scenario the method could be attempted.
If you were really set on using Diphenhydramine, then these posts have some information :
However, the above posts might paint an "overly optimistic" view of the method.
Also, I don't believe the author of those posts went though with the method, so perhaps they weren't truly convinced themselves.

@crazy1 I'm so glad I was able to save you from this horrible (failed) experience. To this day I still can't take Diphenhydramine at all, because my body senses it and throws it back up. Thank you for your condolences, I can't even describe how devastated my world is now. I just want to be with my soulmate and son so badly. Every time I try, I fail.

I'm not knowledgeable at all on diphenhydramine as a ctb method but from personal experience with high "recreational" (don't do this) doses:
If you're conscious while suffering from DPH-induced delirium you are in for an absolute nightmare of an experience. On the physical side you can expect a heavy feeling of unease/illness, severe cramping, headaches. The delirious state will cause you to hallucinate but unlike many psychedelic drugs, it will be difficult/impossible to discern what you see from reality. The most common reported hallucinations by far are seeing spiders/black crawling objects over everything in your view, as well as shadowy figures approaching you, and generally things out of your nightmares. You'll be extremely confused and exhausted and this will last for hours, and you'll probably feel like shit for the next day or two. I really cannot recommend this at all.
As an addendum some products with DPH in them also have acetaminophen, and taking a lot of it can lead to liver damage which isn't fun.
