Yes, I can absolutely relate.
It's why I usually come to like the villains, antagonists, or anti-heroes in a story more than the heroes. Heroes in stories may sometimes have tragic backstories, but usually they will have everything handed to them, they will have some kind of loving support network full of people who don't want them to fail, they uphold the status quo and the conventional way of life,, even the narrative of the very universe conforms to their will. With those on the darker side of things, they are usually doomed to failure from the start, they will always lose, rarely did they receive much warmth or loving, and if they did it was snatched away. Or an another way of looking at things, simply going against the grain of mainstream and polite society and trying to cause anarchy or destruction is enough to endear them to me.
I'm extremely contrarian. If I feel like something or someone gets more praise or adoration than it deserves, I start to hate it. Conversely, if I feel like something gets more hate or vitriol than it deserves, I start to gain empathy toward it and look at things from that perspective. I can very easily look at things from other perspectives, almost too easily, and so I'll sometimes play the role of "devil's advocate." If there is something that "everyone" loves or agrees with, I will be one of the first to question that wisdom. The common and acceptable way of doing things is rarely the best one.
I can relate more to the misunderstood, those who are outsiders and outcasted from society, so that is where my mentality comes from.
I do hate how "unbalanced" life is, so I absolutely understand what you mean when you say you feel like things should be distributed democratically.
