Very little data on the incident and it's as far back as 2010. Way too many variables and factors for me to consider this a viable account.

There are plenty of very well documented cases that prove it's relatively peaceful. Any kind of death is going to have some sort of discomfort involved.

this is a news site reporting a suicide, they didnt quote the guy saying he was in any pain he could've called the ambulance because he panicked and backed out, we cant truly know from this report what the man experienced since he doesnt say so himself thats just what i think

It says sodium nitrate and not sodium nitrite. Not sure if it is talking about the SN recommended in Stan's guide

doctors who dealt with assisted death by 6 people reported that it is very peaceful. there are several reports on the forum of people who tried ctb and did not feel pain, in addition to the effects caused by SN such as tachycardia, nausea.

They said Nitrate and Nitrite. This is a common error in articles like these.

the doctors who lead the death assisted by 6 people fail that it is very peaceful. there are several reports on the forum of people trying to snt ctb and not sow anything, besides the effects caused by SN like tachycardia, nausea.

At the same time there are reports even from the members on this site who drank SN and survived because of one reason or another that it wasn't too painful, some discomfort sure but not too painful.

Also, I love how in the end it says that the psychologist said "we have to pay more attention" and the article was 10 years ago and all this shit and the world is still the same.

All of the documented casses I have read seem to point to the process being rather peaceful, this was the first time I saw a survivor. It could have been that he did not take the proportions right, but if this was a very real case it could be a probability we should consider

if 80 yr olds are getting through it peacefully we can deduce that these survivors as i keep saying had no intention of dying which creates panic and interfering with the process.

It uses both nitrite and nitrate, it's difficult to know which one it's referring to.

Terrible article, if you can even consider it an actual article. It's all ran through an automated translator that has managed to leave out most, if not all detail. If someone took the time to mix up English with Chinese into Google Translate, you could get it to do some mileage. The profoundly stupid who do not do this typically end up with shit being cut up, incoherent, and someone who thinks they understand the language will add shit to make sense for [English] grammatical coherence.

Robot translations are fine. it's a problem if you don't add proper disclaimers and pass it off as reliable journalism.
It uses both nitrite and nitrate, it's difficult to know which one it's referring to.
The article was ran through a translator, and said "journalist" polished it without correcting any mistakes along the way. There are a myriad of reasons why automatically translating an article is terrible. The news reports on this incident all use 亚硝酸钠.

I don't trust this article for the reasons already outlined above. Nonetheless, I don't think SN is a totally peaceful death. I do think there's some level of discomfort involved, the severity of which will vary depending on people's unique body chemistry and their individual level of pain perception. I just think that's to be expected when you ingest poison

This case was discussed over and over here. It is not new. Even intoxication with nitrate "from what i read at least" does not have pain as a symptom.. You can believe what you want but i tend to think because pain is rarely mentioned as a symptom, there could be other factors in play here...maybe he regretted it and he said that it was painful or they reported it to scare the readers or maybe by "pain" they mean the discomfort and vomiting.

There was a member on here recently talking about how they vomited up the SN and felt intense stomach pain.

I'd add that this is state-run media, who might well embellish facts to discourage suicide.

Has this case been reported by an independent source?
