I need to vent after reading the "click here if you're suicidal"-section on suicide.org after seeing it advertised when I only wanted to play Apex Legends (no, this is not a joke, if you launch Apex Legends you will see this link to suicide.org too.)
Why would I call a suicide hotline? And why would that help? I've tried that, all you do is reassuring yourselves that I won't harm myself and then hang up - you don't solve anything in my life.
Why would donating to your organization "help save lives" as you proudly and arrogantly claim? You have not helped me. Nor any other organization that proclaims to prevent suicide.
How about shaping society in a way that won't create suicidal individuals like me in the first place? Instead of creating these post-hoc hypocritical suicide hotlines.
It is demonstrably false that every person that have attempted suicide and survived "were glad that they lived". I am certainly not, and from what I've seen on this forum many would agree. And why would you guilt-trip someone in agonizing pain that ending their life will only cause suffering for the people around them? As if that is a cause great enough to bear the immense suffering many of us deal with. I find that reasoning laughable.
The "help" that is available for suicidal people in our society is clearly not enough. How many people here haven't tried every anti-depressant and therapy without any result? Advertising it as a viable solution better than suicide is dishonest.
