Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in taking part in a series of podcasts about suicide. There's a lot of good discussion on these forums and I think the subject has been ignored and marginalised outside of semi-hidden forums such as this.
I'm currently finishing up a 20 part set of conversations about how 2020 has impacted people's lives (which I am in the process of uploading to YouTube) and have been thinking of what I wanted to tackle next. This subject seems both under-served and is something that, for obvious reasons, I have a strong interest in.
The previous set of podcasts I've done were very long, discursive and often silly - so obviously that approach wouldn't be the one I took with this. What I'd hope for is 10-15 minutes discussion, ranging from discussions of your own reasons as to how, why and when, to philosophical/legal/ethical issues.
The method I use is zoom so you can keep as anonymous as you wish - fake name, fake email account for me to send the meeting details to, you can keep your camera off, or wear a disguise or show your face depending on your preference. I'll show my face obviously, because I don't give a shit. Also, and this should go without saying, I shan't mention this forum - I need this resource as much as any of you and I wouldn't do anything to shut it down or bring unwanted attention. As far as anyone listening/watching would be concerned, this forum doesn't exist.
I tend not to edit if at all possible so if you're interested, let me know beforehand any topics or details you'd rather not talk about - as well as being clear about the aspect of suicide you're MOST keen to discuss. This will help me to prevent too much repetition across the series.
If this is something you'd be interested in, please inbox me so we can discuss further. The dark humour part of me would ideally like 13 episodes, but I'll take what I can get.
(You can look at my post history to see that I'm not an anti-suicide twat who'll try to dissuade you or mock your wish to take your own life. Also, as a gesture of goodwill, I'll give you a link to my other podcasts - even though they are very different from the way I hope to approach this series.)
Hope to hear from at least 13 of you soon.
