• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I'd try it but I think there's a reason there isn't a site like that already. I mean there are plenty of depression sites, I was on one but you couldn't stray into suicide territory or you'd get flagged and warned and any mention of the S word edited out. And no one seemed anywhere near the level of depressed as I was, I questioned why they were even on there tbh. It's normie depression tho-which means they felt a bit down for a week. Joking-I shouldn't downplay others MH struggles, but I really didn't identify with any of them at all.

I think any site that allows suicide talk is really risking a bunch of trouble from family if any member let it be known they wanted to CTB and then went on to do it. Their family would be like "but why didn't you convince them harder not to do it?! You could've prevented this, they're dead because of you" blah blah blah. You know how they hold the internet responsible and wildly overestimate how much power anyone has to help from behind a computer screen. People who have lost someone aren't exactly rational.

And what if people had prior attempts and then wanted to vent about them? They wouldn't even be able to talk about what they did because it'd probably be classed as "method talk" so there's just no way without it being censored to a high degree which most of us don't want and makes it like every other site out there. There really isn't any middle ground on this I don't think, which is a shame but that's just how it is on the subject of suicide 🤷‍♀️

I'd try it. I grown close to people here and seen enough of them die that I've grown resentful of this site and seen its ugly, pro-death side. something with a bit more moderation and a bit more challenge to the negatvity that pulls others down with it would be better, while still allowing for open discussion.

I feel like I'd certainly look I owe it to myself to at least try but I'm set in my ways and my belief so I don't feel like it would make a difference but as a hypothetical where you could access some medical know how it would certainly be a resource.

I don't mind my pro-choice views being challenged. Rather, I think a forum like that wouldn't offer anything that the recovery section doesn't already have. On top of that, any sort of anti-choice space invites a lot of mental health platitudes that don't help anyone (it gets better, you're not alone, etc.).

Let's say a group of individuals or a professional body set up a forum to discuss suicide- like this one EXCEPT, it did more to nudge people more towards life. In effect- it was more pro-life.

So, you'd still be free to vent about how much you hated life and wanted to die but, the responses would be more along the lines of finding a way to recover. Obviously, no method information would be available.

Do you think you'd try it? Personally, I don't. I'm not interested in having my ideas challenged or changed. I'm too old (44), too stubborn, too unmotivated and too lazy to work towards recovery now. Honestly, it makes me kind of cringe imagining some of the responses that would be on there.

How about you though?
Well. If I understand you correctly , such forum already exists. https://www.suicideforum.com/community/
Read the rules carefully if you decide to post there, those are different from here.

Unless they're a researcher with a pill I can take for autism, hell no.

On some level I would be open to trying anything and perhaps it would be useful - especially if it had a women's only section - but honestly? I'm suffering and just want this all to end. I keep deluding myself there are people out there and there is always something to try. Since my autism diagnosis the blinders are off and this is what my life will be like. Fuck that.

I think all I want really is to find one other autistic person who wants to CTB and we help each other plan the end so we can die together. That's my dream - to have one friend at the end of the life. I have no friends It would be comforting to find someone.
