I read a few posts asking if anyone actually does or would do a suicide pact with a partner. Well this is a whole family, and yes people really do this. What are your thoughts on it and how do you feel about them now that they are gone. CTB by gun.
I wonder about how the news portrayed them when they don't even know them. Neighbors request a Welfare Check on them. Does it matter if they were Christians? Does it matter what they say the reason is for this? I think this is one I would not try to guess or even say how I feel about it but instead hope and pray they are now at peace and found what they wanted.
Here is the story for the news.
A Pennsylvania family found shot dead in their backyard last week in what police say appears to be a suicide pact, included a mother and daughter who loved bowling and were devout Christian conservatives, people who knew them said.

Morgan Daub, 26, and her parents, James Daub, 62, and Deborah Daub, 59, were found dead on the ground in the backyard of their home in York County, Pennsylvania, on the morning of Jan. 25, after police responded to a request for a welfare check from a neighbor.
The West Manchester Township Police Department has since said that notes left inside the house indicate that the family recently made a "joint decision" to end their lives. Police believe Deborah Daub shot and killed her husband and then was shot and killed by Morgan, who died by suicide. Police said there were no signs of forced entry or struggle and no evidence that anyone else had been present.

An investigation into the deaths has been closed.
RIP

Wow, I wonder how the conversation about this joint decision was initiated. Everyone in this family must have been super close and very open about death. I think it would be very hard to kill a family member, I don't think I would ever be able to do it, let alone witness it.

honestly, parental suicide pacts seem extremely unethical to me. a parent is too influential in someone's life for this to be ethical.

The girl had schizophrenia and her auditory hallucinations were getting louder so she decided to kill herself. Her parents did not want her to die alone so they agreed on a suicide pact. This is certainly a strange case and it seems like it was done out of impulse (for the parents). Well, you never know what happens next.
