I have thought this since I was little. People see it as purely negative, but it is the opposite. I would say the only time it is negative is when a person does it impulsively and not as a well thought out choice. Then it is a tragedy. But when someone chooses to do it after draining out all other options of hope, it is relieving. I don't think suicide is "losing your battle" or "not being able to handle life" I see it more as choosing what is best for you. If done under the right circumstances, it is purely a choice for the better, and I hope one day families can see that and think more about the good memories rather than the death so those who are suicidal do not have to feel the constant guilt and pressure that comes with the act. I can't say this anywhere else though, or else I would be considered a bad person who has the wrong idea. I even feel guilty typing this, but how could you look someone so miserable in the eye and tell them to just keep going? My own SI is really pushing me on, especially this last month, I lost any progress I made in mental health but I am not ready to CTB this instant because I want to put more thought into it. That's how I feel like suicide should be, kind of like thinking about what career you want to choose, or where you want to live, it is a choice that only you can make and it should never be shamed upon.
