  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

The way I see it, suicide is a human right. We all have the right to exit this world at a time of our own choosing and we have no obligations to stay alive as we did not ask to exist. It is our life and our decision. In my case, suicide will prevent decades of suffering, so it is the right thing for me. Suicide should not be so stigmatised in society and our right to die should be respected. It is cruel to expect people to suffer for decades against their wishes and try to force them to live.

I suspect the idea of right or wrong is purely subjective - we make laws that attempt to govern what is right or wrong, based on the idea that we all want to live in a relatively peaceful, productive, cohesive society, but many corrupt people abuse the concept of laws to try to manipulate power and resources into their hands. If you genuinely believe you have done nothing wrong, and it is truly genuine, and not some way to protect your ego, then have you done anything wrong? Does it matter that others think you have, even though you think you haven't? It seems purely subjective. Hitler went to his grave believing he did nothing but good for the world, and the only reason he failed in his plan was because the German people's will wasn't strong enough to complete the task.

More than being not wrong, I think it's right and reasonable in a world as cruel and unpleasant as this one. This world doesn't deserve to be entertained and inhabited because of how vile so much of it is.

I agree that it si snot wrong ethically- in some cases it is a mistake and in some cases it is not, many of us here struggle with this, but I do think that it is wrong to judge someone harshly for wanting to end their pain.

I agree suicide should be a right, and some cultures throughout history, used to accept it and encourage it when the time came. Lets face it, the only reason why we're being told it's bad, unethical, against god's will, etc ... is simply to prevent population decline, and the loss of power/money. If we could just kill ourselves easily and be with a god, then there wouldn't be a need for religious organizations. If we could just kill ourselves easily, how would businesses and governments make money with so many people disappearing off the face of the earth.

I'm new here. This is my first post. I am not ready to make an entirely new thread yet. I have to go into work soon, but I've been waiting to get approved on this forum. I have been suicidal all my life with some good mixed in. I never thought I would make it past high school. Then I didn't think I would make it past 25. I decided to go to college late in life and graduated at 32. I have a career now and I have trouble working. I always have. The world asks too much of me. I went through some phases where I thought I would work long enough to somehow invest and somehow make enough money to never have to work again. It was all a pipe dream. I used loans to get through college and I was just buying some time because I didn't work most of those 4 years at least not full time jobs. Those 4 years were the happiest time of my life. I didn't think I would still be here. I do enjoy my job sometimes but going every single day and putting so much effort into it is beyond difficult for me. It's unmanageable and it drives me crazy. I do care about some people but it's not like I get to spend any time with these people. We are all too busy trying to work and make it. There's not much fun in life and the little there is there's the anxiety of knowing I have to go to work the next day or week if I'm on vacation. I'm almost 35. I've had almost every job you can think of that doesn't require a degree. This is by far the best job I've ever had. I do love it in comparison but it's still a job. My brain can't handle the every dayness of it. People say money doesn't buy happiness and I would agree except for me I don't need anything. I just need more free time and more alone time and money does buy that. People say people can't enjoy a life where they didn't earn their money. I disagree. I could. Because I don't hate being alive. I hate being alive and expected to go to work every day. I understand everyone has to work to make it. I get that that is a necessary part of being alive but I don't want it. It's not worth it to me. I had a lot of trauma as a kid and that likely has a lot to do with all of this. but therapists don't help. Medication doesn't help. Exercise and eating right and all the things they tell you helps doesn't help. The fact is working is not enjoyable and I think most people pretend it is and I'm not sure why. People talk about how amazing their careers are. It's all about what you do in your career and blah blah. I don't care honestly. I do things to keep people off my back at work. That's it. I wish I could say different but I can't. This is how I am.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with suicide. We didn't exist before we were born and we won't exist after. The only thing suicide does is shorten the time you are alive. In the end, it won't matter anyway. Humans will die out and the universe will keep doing its thing. It feels sad right now but it doesn't really matter. Now I suppose you could say this about anything but this is a right we should all have. I do believe a lot of people can be saved though and that nobody should ever push someone towards suicide. But I think making people feel guilty for it is wrong too. Its good to know I have a place to vent that will listen without judgement.

i'm 35 years old soon to be 36 i've never had a job lucky enough i get disability benefit, i would hate to have to go to work everyday in a job that i don't enjoy just to survive, that would be rubbing salt in the wound, it's hard enough just dealing with everyday life without having to go to work on top of it, i hate living paycheck to paycheck just wish i had more money to do the things i want too
